is working as an engineer in the army a good idea? I'm currently about to start a bachelor's degree in electrical engineering form a local university. Would it be a better idea to look for job in the army when I'm done than in the private/public sector? How does the salary of an electrical engineer in the army compare to what a private company would give me for a similar position in Canada/Usa?
How does the US Army infantry issue you a weapon? Im shipping out to basic training in 2 months for infantry and after basic what gun will i mos likely be issued cuz im going in as an E3 rank from my JROTC. How do they decide who uses the SAW and who uses the m4/m16? So which one will i probably be issued?I heard that there will be people to request to use the SAW? Does rank have anything to do with what gun you are issued?THANKS
I am wanting to join the army? I'm 16 a sophomore in high school. I know I want to join the army specifically the marines. Should I go to college if so which one? What should I do to prepare? Please help
Who do I talk to for voluntary hardship in the army? I am overstressed, constantly wanting to find some way to TRY to deal with all of the problems, hazing, and poor leadership but I've come to the conclusion that the Army just isn't for me. I found out that I can put in for a voluntary hardship i.e. voluntarily asking to get signed out because of undue stress and the difficulty of adjusting to the military. Who do I talk to about getting the paperwork started? I'd like a reply to my question asap, please. Thank you in advance if you answer!
What are the pros/cons of the navy/coast guard/army/marines? I have been looking at jobs in all 4 branches. They all offer similar jobs, but I was just wondering what the pros and cons were of each different branch? Like is one more/less strict than the other, which one pays the best/worst, which one is more exciting/boring, etc. Thanks!
The army health care question? I'm a soldier coming home on leave from Afghanistan. I found out that i have a bladder infection second day i got to the state, so if i go to the doctor would i get charged for? I mean i went straight to deloyment after my AIT and Basic training, so i did not do any health care paper work tricare etc...What am i suppose to do to see a doctor?
pros/cons of the Army and Air Force? What are the pros/cons of the Army and the Air Force. I was disqualified for USAF TACP which was something I really wanted to do and now my job list is really short and not very exciting. MEPS said i was colorblind (i can name all of the damn colors on the rainbow) so most of the jobs in the Air Force I will not be able to do. I am thinking about joining the Army and do infantry/airborne and maybe one day go to ranger school. I am still qualified for the USAF and in dep for it but none of the jobs really appeal to me except for 2T231. I really don't have plans for college at all so I am not joining a branch b/c of college incentive. My dad did 21 years in the USAF and tells me how life will be a lot different in the Army (the way you get treated as a young soldier, quality of bases, some of the people in it etc...). That's not to say that everything in the Army is bad but he said and I know, how good USAF life is on families. So in conclusion what would be a better choice? Army - badass jobs but not the greatest quality of life until you become an NCO, or Air Force - great quality of life but with "colorblindness" a very short and boring job list. I would not be asking this question if I was qualified for Air Force TACP fyi. thanks for the information everyone, My recruiter gave me an updated list today, not good. Nothing but desk jobs, I am ineligible for every mechanical, transportation, electronic, and jobs like security forces and TACP. The only jobs I am eligible for the USAF are desk management jobs; I'm an 18 year old who has been training for TACP for the past 4 months, get what I'm sayin? My dad who did 21 years in the usaf said "man this is the E6 and up job list" in a joking way. But he is kind of right ha, the only jobs I am qualified for are jobs that NCO's take b/c they are near the end of their career etc...
question about the ARMY? I was just wondering from any U.S Soldier that knows, How often do Army Rangers get leave? I realize that it is not very much so please don't say "don't go if you're a mommas boy". I just want to know, When is the first chance That a Ranger student gets leave? after (RASP) or what? Thank you to everyone who didn't respond with a "ask you're recruiter" answer. It's 11.00 a.m here guys. I wanted to know now. If your going to be a smart ass please just leave. Again, thank you guys.
I would like to know any information on joining the army? Im 25 married with a family my girls are 6 and 2... is it really hard to join the army after the budget cuts? I scored very fairly with my asvab but i still want to join. But im very worried because of all the cuts they made this year. Are they still taking people in and is it harder for.me to join since im a female and a bit older than the rest?
Do Army Rangers in the special troops battalion see combat? just curious if only the combat mos' rangers see combat, i am in intelligence and want to become a ranger and want to do more then sit behind a computer. please let me know if being a ranger but not a infantryman will get me out of the wire.
What is the best modern army movie? Any suggestions? one with a lot of action and explosions. anything like a team of soldiers on a mission would be nice. The more modern the better (not like WWII or anything like that).
Who is the best army in the world? I would say England, we beated The Spanish Armada, 130 of the most powerful ships in the world, against 25 normal ships, and England won, they beated France and Spain in The Battle of Trafalgar, etc. Please be careful about saying America, because in my opinion they are complete crap, they depend on machinery and bombs, and in the end say they are the best army in the world after having been defeated by Vietnam Farmers, with big heavy bombs, etc. In my opinion they have the best weapons guarantee, but I'm talking about the best army, (Skill, Leadership, Intelligence, etc) Who do you think it is. And also I realize that America saved us English and that without it, we'd be dead. And so that is a thank you :) I'm not trying to dis the American army by the way, I'm just saying that America depends on bombs rather than skill.
I was arrested by the Mexican Army in Tall Trees in Red Dead Redemption? In the game Red Dead Redemption I was exploring the northernmost area of Tall Trees on the road leading to the wooden gate (haven't gotten to the mission that allows me to go in yet). I was continually attacked by bears, killing 5 of them. Eventually, I got on my horse and as I was riding up the road to where the gate was, I suddenly got the message that "if i committed enough murders the US Marshals or the Mexican Army would chase me" and all of a sudden I appeared as wanted and in a red circle with some Mexican Army men chasing me. Although I was "Wanted" in Mexico, it doesn't seem to make sense that the MEXICAN ARMY would suddenly appear and attack me after I had killed some bears in the northernmost part of the map. Is it possible to be wanted for killing bears or is this just a glitch?
Can I join the British Army with an expunged American Minor Marijuana Misdeamnor record? I've always wanted to be a soldier. I F**KED up and got busted with a gram of pot when I was drunk. Funny how I can do anything and get a job anywhere else but the military with these new rules they got with waivers. I'm not even close to a pot head I was doing my friend a favor getting it. My grandparents are from Ireland so I've been told I can get a citizenship through Ireland and join the british army and maybe if everything goes great and I get lucky I'd like to try out for SAS selection. Would the british army take me cuz I didn't screw up in their country?? funny question i know
Is 32 too old to enlist in the Navy? I've been contemplating enlisting in the Navy for quite a long time, and really wish I would've enlisted years ago. But I didn't. I would really like to now. I know Navy basic training isn't as grueling as the Army or the Marines, but I'm older than most people who enlist. I also have a surgically repaired knee. Am I too old, and is my knee too weak to make it through basic training?
Joining the British army from Ireland? I'm thinking of joining the army at the end of the year, but in about a month my family will be moving over to Ireland (I'm 16) I know that you can join from Ireland, but do you have to live over in the UK? Nothings definite yet, but can you spend you spare time in ireland?
Where can I get Miley Cyrus army cargo pants? Sorry, I can't get a photo. I heard she brought the army cargo pants from Forever 21, but because I live in Australia, we don't have those American stores. (And we don't have Wal-Mart). Is there a place I can order a pair? Or is there a place in Sydney where I can buy the exact pair?
Is joining the army reserve a descent idea? The man at seven eleven didN't think so, and I hold his opinion in high regard as I run most any stuff by him first. He said "wat are u going to do if u go to iraq?" I want my college paid for. I scored a 30 today on the practice asvab. I want to be a nurse. Still...his opinion holds weight and I will heed his warning, as I would like to be a nurse to make money, pay off my car quick, and go pro in boxing perhapps. I am male. Now, a lot of the times, you yahoos are answers. There is perhapps, at least one of you who knows, if not more.
What is the best possible route if I joined the Army to become a Chiropractor/Massage Therapist? I am looking to enlist here in the next couple of weeks. I'd like to go in with a little knowledge rather than having to take my recruiter for his every word. There are a few things I'd like and prioritize. 1) I want to have a career in Chiropracting/Massage Therapy 2) I'd like to be stationed near Ft. Campbell, if not there. Also, What is the current wait time between enlisting and leaving estimated at? Another quick question. For choices in MOS, are there any recommendations considering the career I would to enter?
My husband is in the Army; how do we do our taxes? I am having some trouble reading his W-2 from Mypay. He has been deployed to Afghanistan as of April 3, 2011. So does his W-2 only reflect his wages from January through April? I am on the Military One Source website trying to do our taxes and I'm having some trouble with it. Sorry if this seems kind of dumb but I need to get these done and I'm not good with this stuff at all LOL..normally my husband does it but he's in Afghan right now with no access to internet. Do you not count your wages when you're deployed? I'm assuming that's how it works... I do have POA but I'm on the Military One Source website and they do it free via HnR Block..I just hope I'm doing this right! They are showing a much larger amount under Social Security and Med. income; it's the same amount...so confusing LOL Thanks for the information; I really appreciate it!!
Opinions for my MOS in the army? I recently took my asvab and got a GT score of 111. I was wondering which intelligence MOS would be best for me. I'm looking for an MOS that's a great job, has a nice paycheck, and where I would be able to transfer to a civilian job if I decide to get out of the army.
If I was to join the Army National Guard or the Air National Guard would it make me independent? I'm trying to figure out if I was to join either the Air or Army National Guard would it make me independent? I'm just making sure because I'm trying to figure this out to see if I would check yes to one of the fafsa (financial aid) questions. The question is "You are currently serving on active duty in the U.S. Armed Forces for purposes other than training" Would I check yes? And would it make me independent?
How does the US Army infantry issue you a weapon? Im shipping out to basic training in 2 months for infantry and after basic what gun will i mos likely be issued cuz im going in as an E3 rank from my JROTC. How do they decide who uses the SAW and who uses the m4/m16? So which one will i probably be issued? THANKS
The Army, A cop, the ten commandments-? Being in the Army or being a cop, one day you end up shooting someone. (unlikely as a cop) And doesn't this violate one of Gods commandments? - thou shall not kill one another! And so would you have severe consequences when you die, unless you've been through your baptism, communion and other religious ceremonies or something?
Which of these factors had much influence on the German army's defeat in Stalingrad? Or in other words, what do you think were the main reasons why the germans lost in Stalingrad?: a- Because of the overwhelming superiority of the Red Army in terms of numbers. b- Because of the extreme cold. c- Because the Germans ran out of ammunition. d- Because the Germans ran out of food and so, got debilitated. e- Because of wrong strategies.
Can the army kick you out for not attending PT? My husband joined the army and is waiting to ship out in June for basic. They told him he had to go to PT every Thursday. He told his boss this, but she still has not given him the time off to go. This is his third time missing one Can or will they kick him out for this?
Should I join the Army or the Marines? After college I want to enlist in one of these branches, but I'm not sure which. I had originally planned on joining the Army because I get sea sick easily, but the people in Marine Corps JROTC said I should join the Marines, and that the Army goes on boats too, so that's not a good reason. I want an intel job also, so what are the differences between Army and Marine Intelligence? What do you think I should do?
Army basic training reception period, what is the medical screening like? Do you have to go through the entire MEPS process again? Or is it more like checking to make sure nothing has changed? If only people who have been there recently or know about it could answer that would be great Does it make a difference where you go to basic training? Like would reception at fort Sill be any different from reception at fort Benning?
Will the Army move my things to Alaska? I know that the Army pays for your move if you are PCSing. My particular situation, is that I live in Texas and my fiance is deployed overseas. He is returning soon, and we are getting married upon his return in Alaska (Fort Wainwright) Will the Army still pay to move our things from our house in Texas? Also, anyone who has ever been in this situation, or one like it, I'd appreciate some advice on the move. I've never left Texas and I've never flown on an airplane. This is all very scary for me :p The thing is, is that although Texas allows single-proxy marriages, it would be difficult to have him sign and mail to me the original affidavit soon enough since mail is terribly, terribly slow. So we can't get married until he returns from deployment, and I will already have been flown to AK a few days before his return. I understand that if we have gotten married a few months ago during R&R, things would be a lot smoother than they are. Lol. We plan on having a civil wedding asap, then flying back to Texas in the summer to have an actual ceremony. But since he has been stationed at Wainwright for nearly two years now, will they still pay to move my things after I am married?
Can I join the british army with autism? Hello all, My name is Chris and I have autism. Can people with autism join the british army? (specifically royal marines) I have not got a major case of autism I just get a little awkward in social situations (I specifically have high functioning autism) But I have no problem dealing with people who are not dicks (I get bullied but apart from that I am fine) So basically can I join the army as infantry. @Five why not? I am fine with people and I can follow orders etc. @Ryan and five times - I checked the medical requirements and autism was not on the list at all. Perhaps do some research before you say ''NO WAY'' I am sorry to say that I have posted on the US yahooa answers. I have checked the United Kingdom Army medical requirements (Things that would get you disqualified) and no form of autism is on there. I have read it thoroughly and nothing is on there that I suffer from. Here is the site it is on (it is the official army site) http://www.army.mod.uk/join/20157.aspx
How much money do you think I will make over my training career in the Army? I have enlisted in the National Guard with the MOS 11B - Javelin Gunnery. My ASVAB score was 93 and my GT was 126. I want to go to Army Rangers training. I leave for Basic in two weeks and will be there for 14 weeks. I am hoping to go to airborne school after that for three weeks and If I qualify go to training for the Army Rangers. So my actual questions are as follows. 1. How much money will I come out of training with combined from 2 weeks from now until after rangers school?(If I qualify/If I don't calculate just Basic and AIT) 2. Based off the information given do you think I will qualify? 3. And lastly what should I do before during and after Basic to prepare/get into and sign up for Rangers school. And Jake week-minded individuals like yourself make me laugh. Army rangers is a type of infantry, therefore I am set up pretty well to tryout and qualify for Army Rangers which is conveniently at the same place as my Basic and AIT.
how can i tell my guy crush/friend i dont want to go to the army with him? i mean i really like him...we talk a lot and hangout at the gym a lot we talk about a lot of things we never tell other friends..anyways. he wants me to go to the army with him. whenever i tell him "no"he makes me feel bad saying "wow...i thought we were tight. i thought you would ATLEAST do ____" blah blah blah....ect. how can i tell him i dont wanna go? he may stop hanging out with me. so idk
Which branch of the military has the best leadership qualities? I'm a United States Marine poolee and was a Army JROTC cadet. In my opinion I think the Marines have the best leadership. The Army has the Army values to teach them how to lead and the Marine Corps has their values and leadership traits. All the branches have the same leadership principles. I want your opinion on which branch has the best leadership and how do you go about to lead??? Please be honest and sincere. Thanks
Would you support your wife being in the military? If your wife was in the military and had the option of doing a second round overseas in Iraq and chose to take it because she is committed to serving her country and has a duty to fulfill by being a member of the army, would you support her leaving for two years? What if you two had just had your first child, and he/she was not even a year old yet. Would you be willing to be a faithful husband and stay behind, take care of the baby, and wait for your wife to come back? Would you support your wife in the military? Why or why not? Neither do most women. That's what bottles are for.
At what age do the Indian Army Jawans retire? Majority of army men are jawans, most of them having no scope of promotion. They are foot soldiers with job nature demanding youthfulness and extreme physical tasks. Do BSF and CRPF jawans also retire at similar age? Also, any idea about retirement age in NATO countries?
What about those physical exams in the Army? everybody tells me that I would have to do 80 sit-ups and push-ups is that true?? if not how many push-ups, Sit-ups, and how many miles do I have to run? and the time to pass? and how many other Physical exams are they gonna give me?
What would be the best service for me to join? I'm a chick, if that makes a difference. im pretty tough, i learn quickly, i love to challenge myself, and this may sound weird, but i kinda WANT to go overseas and fight. which would be the best service for me to join? im interested in the marines, army and the navy.
Should I join the marines or army if I don't want to make it a career? When I am 18, I'll be done with college (I skipped a few grades). Then I'll join the marines for a few years. When my 4 years are up, I'll move back and be a cop until I'm 25. Then I'll apply to the FBI. So really, what I'm asking is should I join the Marines or the Army if I don't want to make it a career?
Is it possible for the US army to ever loose a war/battle now days? I think we're nearly invincible. Looking at Kill-Death ratio I think we're doing better than the Germans K-D ratio of WW2 when you look at the Iraq/Afghan war. And probably just as good if we were to fight a major power like russia. I think we're the only nation that has totally conquered/takeover/whatever you want to call it Afghanistan. The British tried and failed, so did the Soviets, and they both lost HUGE amounts of soldiers while we lost hardly anything compared to them. If we went to war with China, Russia, Iran, and a few other countries is it possible we could lose? I mean I think we're doing better than Rome. Did you ever see that movie Battle Los Angeles? We started kicking alien/extraterrestrial butt. They had spaceships, better technology and everything and we still kicked their butts! I think all those countries out there who criticize us better keep their mouth shut unless they want us to do what we do best aka a "regime change". Can we safely say that we have the best, and probably the most powerful army ever created in history? Invincibility?
Looking to join the front line (British Army)? I'm 15 but for several years now I have been really considering joining up the front line (infantry) for the British Army. My Parents don't know yet because I am still considering it. My mums, mum (grandmother). She was raised up in a Military family because of World War 2. And my dads, dad (granddad) who has now passed away. Was in the military himself in the 70's. How could I tell them, how could I conciser joining up and if not the front line Infantry, what else do you think would be good for me to go into (Military wise)
Should an E-2 91B in the Army be responsible for the keys to all the detachment's trucks, and the motor pool? There are three 91B, two E-4s and one E-2, the E-2 is responsible for all the keys concerning the motor pool and doing the dis batching, and getting the 5988s ready for command maintenance. He just got out of AIT in July of 2011. FYI the 92A's job is anything to do with the sams box not the 91B my soldier is more than capable and is responsible the reason it says dis batching instead of dispatching is my computer is retarted. if you are not going to answer the question don't dis me or my soldier i just need to know if there is any AR against it especially sense he has to carry them in his pocket all day every day.
Mos 31 e for the army? I picked this job and am just wondering what I'm getting myself into? Comments or info is appreciated
What are the advantages and disadvantages of being a British Army Officer? I want to join the army and become a British Army Officer, i know it's dangerous and people are going to say "why do you want to go out and kill innocent people", but i don't care about the details of the war or what the army do wrong. I just want to know the advantages i.e. pay, benefits etc. and disadvantages. Thanks
How does someone leave the army? I just don't really understand how a person leaves the army? I think I heard something like if you get hurt badly enough, like you're shot, you get sent home. Besides that though how does the typical soldier leave the army? Is there some sort of service deadline or something?
What degree do you need to join the US army? I feel like i have no future most of the time and i need good pay when i get older i think i should goto the US army I want to know the requirements physically mentally and most of all what kind of degree can you be a highschool drop out to be in it or just a regular high-school degree please do tell :D
What weapons do automatic riflemen use in the US Army infantry? I know they use the SAW but my history teacher was saying that they use sub machine guns on occasion but it includes the word RIFLE which does not seem like sub machine guns at all. So what is the title for someone who uses sub machine guns and what weapons do they and auto riflemen use? Thanks
Dont mention cadets when you go to join the army? I am in the australian army cadets and going to join the aussie army very soon. i have been told by many people not to mention that i was in the cadets, why is this? Wow i never realised that the adf hated cadets so much, im definitely not mentioning it now, but it would be great on more info as to why i shouldnt mention it
Would it be a waste of time to go in the army after getting my BA? I am in college right now working towards my BA in criminal justice/criminology. I have longed to join the army and i would feel incomplete if i went on with my life having never joined. Would it be dumb to join after i graduate from college? Would it be a waste of time?
Questions about joining the army .,.? I've wanted to be a police officer for 15 years of my life , but now I've changed my mind and was thinking about being an infantry soldier . I get really good grades and I'm a smart person plus I know french and English . Would I be throwing my life away joining the army ? Is it a horrible job ?
Should I join the Army? I'm a 16 year old girl and I recently decided I want to join the military after I graduate high school. I want to be either a combat medic or, if worst comes to worse, a hospital corpsman (Navy). I had pretty much decided the Army was for me, but once I told my parents, they were totally against it. They said soldiers were merely "expendables" and were treated like crap by the military. Apparently, my parents talked to a bunch of people, and everyone said the Army was for low-lifes and under-achievers. The Air Force or the Coast Guard are what my parents want me to join. I fully accept the implications of joining the Army; death, seeing horrible things, etc. But I'm starting to doubt my decision! I'm looking to make a career out of it. So, what I'm asking is, are there any soldiers (or airmen, seamen, etc.) who can offer me some advice? I don't want to swear in to the Army and regret my decision later. Thanks for reading all that. :)
Could my cousin - an Army officer - swear me into the Army National Guard? Hello, I'm 16 (turning 17 in May) and my father may let me enlist with his consent in the U.S. Army. I was talking to my guidance counselor today, and he said that at 17 I could go to basic training in the National Guard this upcoming summer, and then eventually transfer from the Army National Guard to active Army. Before I talked to my guidance counselor, I talked to my cousin - a Captain in the U.S. Army. He said he wants to fly up here and swear me in at my oath of enlistment. But, now talking to my guidance counselor, will it be possible to enlist into the Army National Guard and have an active Army officer swear me in? Or could I also take basic training for the Army Reserves this upcoming summer, perhaps?
My boyfriend is going to the army..? So my boyfriend is going to the army.. I've been going out with him before but he wasn't ready for a relationship. We always went back to each other when we split up few times way back..We've been together for a year now. I really love him and he loves me. We're both in love. I am 100% hes the one for me and i'm the one for him. Don't question me about this please. I'm willing to stay with him :) He will be going to the army soon. I always thought it isn't a good idea, but hey.. its what he wants to do. I know i wont be seeing him a lot. Do you think he will miss me a lot when he goes? or do you think he will drift away from me? I'm kind of paranoid and worried. I know i'll miss him. I just want your opinions. No nasty comments. Thank you :) xx
I'm 21 joining the Army. I like to have a beer or two with dinner. It's the night before Meps. Is that ok? I've drank heavily since a young age due to my father. I've tapered off in recent years but still enjoy beer and wine. I'm only planning on maybe three while I eat and watch some tv in the hotel. I know everyone hates drinking because of the breathalyzer but I really don't think I'll blow anything with a 7 hour gap in between and at least two piss breaks and some healthy food. Looking for a reasonable answer, not, "Fuck you! The Army doesn't need your boozing!"
I have to lose a bit of weight for the Army.? Once again, I'm back with another question. I decided I'll go for my diploma, or GED with 15 college credits. However, I'm 14 years old, 6'2 and around 270-285 pounds. I'm not sure exactly how much I weigh, I don't have an accurate scale. However, when I turn 17, I want to join the Army DEP. I plan on going to BCT, AIT, then RASP, then Ranger School. Since the Army's weight limit for being 6'2 is about 210, I was told that if I pass the tape test, that's good enough to be accepted in. However, I want to be atleast 220 before I join, because I plan on losing 30+ pounds during Ranger School. How would I go about losing 60-70 pounds in 3.5 years? I'm currently working my way up to a mile at 7 MPH, and I'll work on faster than that. I'm in MCJROTC, but the PT doesn't really help, which is why I took it into my own hands. JROTC increased my PT capabilities greatly, but not enough for the Army.
26 i think im to old to join the army? When I got out of high school I was all gung ho About going into the military I did one year in rotc and was hooked but that's when I was 18 i did. Not go I let someone talk me out of it and I went to school to do Hair never finished I have did alot and had alot of jobs but the army has allways been a thought now I'm unemployed. And at a point in my life when I'm ready to do something with my life I dont have kids or a hubby its just me I just think now I'm to old I dont want to be in bct with kids I dont know what to do
Can you wear a Hijab in the Canadian Forces? I've been thinking of joining the Canadian Forces for quite a while and was deciding on whether or not to enlist. Because I am Muslim and female I was wondering if I could wear my hijab in the CF. I heard of the first women to wear the hijab while in the military (Wafa Dabbagh), but I wasn't sure if she started wearing it while in the CF or before she joined. Oh and also, which branch would you recommend? Air Force, Navy or the Army? Thanks.
Considering a career in the military, dental concerns? I'm considering a career in the military but I have concerns with my teeth. I have had three removed (bottom premolars, ) from decay, the rest are in good shape. Would the Army require me to replace these teeth before I was eligible for deployment and if so, would I have to get implants, a bridge, or partials? Would the Army pay for it, or would I? Replies from recruiters or those who has served would be appreciated. Thanks.
How to calculate army reserve officer pay? The Army pay chart says reserve Lt. gets a few thousand in pay. I'm assuming that's per year. How is that split up? Just divided by 12? Divided by number of days drilling? How much on a regular month does a reserve 2nd Lt. make? How much on a two week drill month?
Would the US Army stop postal services to Soldiers in Afghanistan because a postman was shot? My friend has a soldier friend and has received photos of him. My Mum was conned by a similar situation where she received photos. I was suspicious in my mums case and asked an ex-army friend how I could test if the supposed soldier was legit. He said to ask for a postal address as NO soldier would refuse some goodies sent from home/overseas to Afghanistan (biscuits magazines etc). I suggested this idea to my friend and she said that the US army has stopped postal deliveries to his area as someone shot the postman. This sounds a little unrealistic but as I have zero army knowledge I can't be sure. Does anyone know the answer for definite? The conman that fooled my Mum got $750 from her before we realised he was a fraudster. I want to save my friend from the same pain if this guy is a fraudster. This guy may be legit but I want to check. Thanks for your answers. Thank you to those of you with gracious answers I really appreciate your patience and time taken to answer my question. Now I can show her the link to this question and she will realise that she has to be careful. John U please dont harshly condem the women who get taken in by these people; they are usually lonely and are just looking for love; who better to love than a brave soldier? My friend is not located in the USA and things are very different here. Oh and I am happy to swap my Uluru Beachfront home with your Kansas Beachfront home anyday! ;)
Do you think that the U.S army are dumb? As said by the media, Ron Paul is a major wacko because of his stance on foreign policy. But our U.S military gives him more campaign donations than all the other candidates combined x2.
Where is the remains of Justinian the great? Like Theodora he was orginally buried in Church of the Holy Apostles, but it was ransacked by the Latin armies in 1204 and after the turks captured the city I was wondering where the Tombs or remains were moved too? Are they lost or were they destroy?

how can I be an army chef? I am 14 years old and I really love cooking. I was looking forward to going to culinary school after I was done high-school. My step father and I were talking when he said" when I was in the army the chefs got paid alot of money". I am in cadets, 102 squadron of Barrie. I will be asking my C.O the next parade night but if anybody can give me any additional infromation, it will be greatly appreciated :)
What is the title of a book about a knight who never took off his armor, led an army, yet was defeated by ants? The story is about a knight who led a powerful army, who never took off his armor, conquered many cities, yet when he came to one city, his army was defeated by ants. I cannot remember the name of this children's book. I am trying to get it for a friend of mind but I cannot remember the title. Can any of you help me? And it is not Harry Potter. It is a CHILDREN'S PICTURE BOOK I am trying to get for a friend. Please READ my question before you answer. And what I include in my question literally happened in the book. There was knight who never took off his armor, conquered many cities, but when he came to one city, his army was literally defeated by insects or ants.
The Army..............? I am 22 and seriously thinking about signing up for the army. I think it might be a great opportunity, but I have been hearing a lot of stories about sexual harassment and rape. How often does it really happen and what are my chances that it will happen to me? Should I not go in fear of getting raped or should I still go knowing this Information?
The army??????? If i wanted to join the army, would it be wise to train and keep fit before i sign up for it. Also, i heard that there is a lot of crime in the army like drugs and you have to be tuff. Is that true?
Can Military Police Officers be members of the Special Response Team? I'm heading to MP school through the national guard and am going to enlist as a 31 bravo. I'm also a college student and am doing Army ROTC. When I commission and become an active duty officer, could I branch Military Police and be part of the SRT? Or is that just for the enlisted? Can an SRT member go trhough airborne school? Ranger school? What opportunities are there for SRT?
The Peace Corps VS the US Army? Upon graduation, and after a couple years of corporate work to earn my CPA, I would like to do more service oriented work for my country for a few years, and then go back to school to get my doctorate. Does anyone have any experience and knowledge about being in the Army or Reserves (like the Civil Affairs branch) vs something more like the Peace Corps. Maybe a little something more then, "NPOs give people fish, the Army shows people how to fish." Well, thanks for any insight! ~Bird
Army basic training advice? I just started the delayed entry program for the army and I want to start my research. Can you guys tell me about bct and life after graduation? Also, is it absolutely necessary that I have to master the obstacle course? I know the obstacle course is the only thing i'll have big problems with.
why did you join the military? this question is to anyone who has join the army, marines, navy etc. why did you join, and what did you do after? i am hoping to soon join myself, so i was just curious what people chose to do after. thanks so much((:
Hadn't been by the Russians, it would have been impossible to beat the German army? We're talking about World War 2. I guess no one would have been able to beat Germany if Russia hadn't been military involved in the war. The American army entered the war when the German forces were already weaker ( because of the Barbarrosa Operation failure) Sits Vacant: Germany was beaten mostly because of the Russian army efforts and merit
Does the University of Pennsylvania have an Army Rotc Program? Well here's my life plan... I want to join the army through the rotc program, after that I would serve the 4 years active duty, after that I would go to Med school. Would it be hard to get into med school after being an officer in the army with the gap between college and med school?
How does the Army select SFOD-D candidates? How does the recruiting process go and what are they looking for? Obviously mostly the Army Rangers and Green Beret's and what not, but all around what do you need to do to qualify and become a top candidate for this group? How many people do they pick to "try out". And what MOS do they accept? Would they take 68W Combat Medic with Ranger experience?
How did the roman army recruit soldiers? Hey, im doing a history assignment on the roman army, and i need to find out how the romans recruited their soldiers... please answer in as much detail as possible. Cheers! ~ Ryan
What was the Playstation 1 game that had army men? I've been searching for years to find this game but I can't remember the name of it. The cover of the game had a plastic army guy landing on a grill with a hot dog on it. It was similar to having those army guys as a kid you would play with that were green. You could fly helicopters and so forth and play multiplayer to find and destroy the other teams bases. If anyone could please help me out I'm really wanting to find this game and play it again. Thanks!
What are the policies for the Army DESP program? If a Soldier has extended for the DESP program but did not deploy with the unit and did not get the ETS date move to its original date, would that Soldier still get the incentive pay for extending?
Will my boyfriend cheat on me when he goes to the army? He's in love with me. I've been watching a lot of film.. seeing men going to the army and ending up cheating on their wifes/girlfriends.. even thought they love them. Is there a 50/50 chance he will cheat on me? He NEVER cheated on me. and ID NEVER CHEAT ON HIM. NEVER! i never cheated on anyone. Thank you for your opinions!! :D
Christians: Is It a Sin To Kill Somebody If Your In The Army? Is it a sin to kill somebody if your in the Army, or your protecting yourself or other people? For instance, if your babysitting, the power is out (there is no way to call the police), and a man breaks into the house an attempts to kill you and the kids you are watching, is it a sin to kill him? Why or why not? Thanks :) What if your a cop, and you have to kill a man to protect the city?
Question about army waivers, and how long they stay in the system for..? So a few years ago when I just got out of high school an army recruiter was trying to get me to sign up. I was young and knew literally nothing about the military or any of their policies. So he was walking me through the process, and mentions that I cannot lie about anything on any part of the application, because if I did it could result in an automatic dishonorable discharge. So eventually we got the the 'have you ever done any illegal drugs portion,' and well, to be perfectly honest when I was in high school I had done some experimenting with friends and various illegal drugs. I was never caught. and I never talked to no one else about it with the exception of the friends I did them with. But at the time I was young and stupid, and thought honesty was the best policy. So I tell the recruiter, yes I have done some illegal drugs, and he asks me more questions about them and what kinds I've done. He says that I will still able to join, but I will need a waiver. I say as long as it won't affect me, yeah sure. So he writes it all down and tells me he is going to submit it that day. I leave and through some revelation decide I wasn't going to join the army. The next day I come back into the recruiters and tell him that I am not going to join, and he says ok, but just fyi I already submitted the waiver into the system, so now you can never join something like the air force or anything in the future. At the time I'm annoyed by this, but I'm thinking well okay well I'm not joining anyways so it isn't a problem. Years go by, and now I think I'm ready to join the air force.... But I remember this incident, and now I know about their zero tolerance policy.... How ****** am I in getting in to the air force..? Do those waiver submissions stay on the record for a long time? Can I fill out a waiver in the air force to get in? Or am I ****** ******?
Autism and the British Army? Hello, I'm 16 years of age going on 17, I'm physicality fit enough to past the Army fitness test. But the only problem is that I have HFA (high-functioning autism). I'm as able as any other person, I can: Talk, write, type, listen, see, hear, walk, run, socially interact and so much more. I can't join the British Army because of the medical terms. I will admit that when I was younger I had some difficulties like understanding and learning. But now that I have grown up, I have matured and developed, I can do all of these abilities. Now I don't see why I can't join. I'm in college now and it isn't the life I want. I don't want to stay in college and get a degree or leave and get an apprenticeship, then get a job that I have %0 interest in. I want to serve my country and be a proud young man. I have tried multiple activities and none of them satisfy what I truly want, I don't even want a family of my own. Is there any other way that I can join? If not, I really don't see the point in my life.
Would you consider the North to have won the Civil War before it even started? The north was more industrialized and produced 97% of guns, railroads, with a large army. However, the south had powerful leaders trained in military academies and were also fighting on their own home land. I have to write an essay on this but i don't exactly see how i can write a whole essay on just this so any help would be appreciated or any sources that talks about the North and South before war. I couldn't find any. Thanks
My local community college doesn't have Army ROTC program? After getting my associates degree in Criminal Justice at my local community college, can I still join the Army ROTC at my local university? Should I talk to a recruiter after or before I graduate? Can the army pay for my school? Can I go to boot camp my freshmen year of community college?
Do you have to deploy with the Royal marine reserves? Im 15 at the moment I dont want a full time career in the armed forces but i am interested in the British army reserves or better still Royal Marine reserves (if i can make it) If i was to join either of these two would i have to deploy outside of british territories because i personally don't believe in the war in Afghanistan I think that armed forces should be more focused on defending England and its territories not some mess in the middle of a desert. If i did have to deploy where would it be? Thanks Dan
combative branch for us army officer? i'm currently in rotc at my university, and i intend on graduating as an officer...what branch of the army would include the most dirty work, combart, and outdoor stuff for an officer? i know that infantry would probably be, but what would come in 2nd or 3rd?
Anyone in the military, I would love to hear your stories and advice. =)? A little info about me: I'm in college (but currently taking a break), 19 years old, female, and I really want to join the military, mainly the Army. If anyone has advice, stories/ information about all branches, PLEASE SHARE! What is active duty like, what is the reserves like? How long are deployments (on average). I'm going to join soon, but I really want to be informed. Thanks everyone!
I'm planning on enlisting in the Alabama Army National Guard, I would appreciate some MOS help? I know there is a Chemical brigade and 2 Military Police battalions in my area, does this limit me to MOSs in these fields? i have some interest in 13F (Fire Support Specialist) and 68W (Health Care Specialist). Could i choose one of these and still be assigned to a unit in my area? Also, how often does the AL Nat. Guard deploy? Currently serving and former service responses would be awesome, Thanks!
Is the army recruiter screwing with me?! HELP!? Is the army still offering the Student Loan Repayment Program in 2012? I have been talking to a recruiter about joining the army as enlisted. I graduated from college with a four-year degree in criminology. It is something I want to do to advance my career and I was told for months that they would be able to pay back my college loans, depending on my MOS. Four days before I am scheduled to go to MEPS they tell me that the SLRP is no longer offered for any MOS. I have searched online, and have not been able to verify this information anyway. Is this guy just screwing with me?
How detailed are the infractions on a DD-214? Our son is being chaptered out of the army after just 20 months and is being vague on why. We're told that his long-form DD-214 will have the reason for his discharge on it. How detailed will this be? Will it be things like "misconduct"? Or will it be more explicit and detailed?
when is the actual APFT conducted? i was wondering when the army physical fitness test is done. is it right before you go to basic training or while your in basic training?
What is Army basic training actually like? I'm gonna be going to Ft. Benning this summer for basic training. I'm enlisting in the national guard as a cav scout. I've watched tons of videos about what it's like but I want to know what it's like off the camera. What is PT like? how often will I get to call home? just any basic rundown on what the average day is during army basic training would be greatly appreciated!
Wats the highest rank in the military? Im currently writing a story about a distopia and it is about 2 men that make a portal that can take anyone anywhere and they are bad guys they r russian and one of them is in the military so i would like to know what the highest rank in the rusian army/ military is
U.S. Marine v. Army Infantry Officer? I am going to join either the Marines or the Army through an ROTC program and have questions on the Infantry Officer positions. 1. Which one is out on the front lines most of the time? 2. Which one is more physically fit? 3. Which has better equipment, or better resources to gain an edge. 4. What are the qualifications for each one? i.e. Airborne. 5. Which is overall a better branch? 6. Which one would you choose? (Not for me, but for yourself) Thank you.
How will my friend get home after his sister was killed? My best friend is an Army Ranger currently deployed in Afghan. Last night his sister was driving home from her boyfriends and was hit head on by a drunk driver killing her instantly. He called me today and I went over and saw his mom and dad. We have many questions as to if he will be allowed to come home. Will the Army allow him to come home? He just got of leave will that be a problem? Will the Army pay for his ticket? How much time will they give him?
What should I get my boyfriend for Valentines day? He's going to the Army in May, so that idea might help a little. He doesn't like candy, and I would cook him a dinner but he is very picky with what he eats, what should I get him, I was thinking about something for him to take to the Army with him that will remind him of me, but I want to get him something else, something kind of corny, something that will show him that I really do care.
Should I join army cadets? I am a 14 year old girl who is interested in joining army cadets, because I want to join the army when I'm older. However, I'm really shy and am worried about making friends, as i wouldn't know anyone there. also, i'm not very fit, and am worried about keeping up with everyone else. is fitness a big deal? and is it hard making friends? i went to it one night with a friend, but it seemed more like a social club than actually doing army stuff, and i can't go to her detachment as she lives to far away. any advice ? x
How come I can't tell apart an Irish from English American? I was in the Army during Vietnam and remember quite a few draftees of different descents from the North East yet the Irish look just like the English/Anglo Americans(some have light hair some have dark hair, some have light eyes and some have dark eyes, but mostly look the same).. How come they put such an emphasis on being "Irish"
Can army soldier switch back and forth between active duty contracts and the reserves? My boyfriend is going into the army this upcoming July. He has a contract as a scout or 19 delta for 3 1/2 years. After this contract he wants to come back and do reserves for about a year or so, then go back on an active duty contract. He wants to do this off and on for 20 years, after 20 years he's gonna retire from the army and come back. Is he allowed to switch back and forth and is it much hassle to do so?
How would I become a doctor in the US army or navy? Currently, I'm 17 in high school and I am already looking to become an ER doctor in my future. However, I'm considering joining the army or navy to become a part of their medical corps. What would be the best route take to become one, what would be required (such as basic training, schooling, etc), and how hard would it take to become one?
Does Involuntary Early Separation from the Army entitle you to break a lease? My husband is being honorably discharged from the Army earlier than the original ETS date under the Involuntary Early Separation program. I know that PCS orders break a lease without consequence and that ETS orders do not. Is there anything in place to protect people in this situation from the wrath of a jilted landlord?
If i join the army by the summer of 2013, will i deployed to Afganistan? im 16 and have been really thinking about joining the army. I want to be deployed to a combat zone. i want the experience and im not sure if well even be in afganistan by then. i know i got what it takes to join and i dont think college is really for me. i would be the first in my family to serve in the military and dont have much support from my family. so i was just wondering if i would be deployed to afganistan and if not where. Thanks.
What are sports in the Army, Navy etc.? I've seen and heard about this. Lacrosse in the navy. I was wondering, how do I even get recruited? Is there Volleyball for any of them? What's the point of the Navy and Army having sports?

I want to be part of the military. And i want to be a linguist.so i read after nine weeks of basic training.I'll have like a year learning the language i want to study. But i also want to attend college and study computer science. But i have a year to learn the language first. But do i go to college still.and the military still pay for my education, when i'm still in AIT.Or do i have to wait till i'm done with AIT,then go to college.Or do i go to college during AIT and the military still pay for my education.
Asked to get out of the Army? I asked to get out of the Army, talked to my squad leader today. Because the other day the C.O. said in formation if anyone wants out let them know so they don't have to do it the hard way. And I have to write down all the reasons I want out and talk to the C.O. sometime. What are my chances of getting an Honorable Discharge??? Because I want to be a cop when I get out. The Army life isn't for me and I'm just sick of it.
Confused between Army National Guard, and the Army? I'm just looking for an explanation for both branches. Which is better, which does the training over the summer for juniors, but will be considered a senior in the summer. Which branch is guaranteed to deploy which isn't just the basic info please

I think I mean't to put ''Do'' instead of ''Does'' lolol. Whatever(; @ Alan, i ButtFucked you're Mom. And How Did You Know?!
What would happen to the military technology and national defense if we privatize the army? So I wouldn't vote for the answers which say: if you privatize the army then you go into a shadow war etc etc. What my question is, if we privatize the army, then how would the companies then react on the new technologies? Assuming that there is fierce competition there would be a race to the best and cheapest services (those companies would likely coorporate with insurance companies). Would they use, for instance, the newest assault gun? Or would they relie on older, for example AK-47, rifles? Another question is: imagine the country falls into anarchy, would the companies then assure national defense? Or the citizens in form of a highly decentralised militia? Or perhaps both?
can a person that isn't smart be in the ARMY help me please? so the army people called me and they were asking me alot for qestions but i didn't know what to say i wanted to tell them about my learning Disability that im not a fast learner and my reading is kinda ok they were asking what was my GPA and if i wanted to do 2 years or 4 years could this be a problem i was in special education class since 7 grade and until high school i did get my high school diploma on 2009
Are you less likely to get the specific job you want in the Air Force than Navy or Army? I realize the needs of the military come first, but it seems like if you join the Navy or Army, you have a better chance of getting the job you want. I know it's also based on your ASVAB score, but I did pretty well - my AFQT is 87. So if I join the Air Force I would want a job in the Cyber field, and if I join Navy or Army, I would want a job in Information Technology. I've heard that the Army is the only branch that guarantees you your job in your contract before you leave for basic (so before you've legally bound yourself to service) and that the Air Force is less likely to get you the job you want and could put you anywhere depending on the needs of the Air Force. Is all of this true?
I want to buy my son a gift before he leaves for the military...Army? My son has enlisted in the United States Army. I want to buy him something special before he leaves. I was thinking a St.Michaels Medal or the Army one. Then I would have the back engraved. Does anybody have any better ideas. They would allow him to wear it with his dog tags won't they? He is my youngest...20..he is still a little boy to me! I can't believe how he has grown. I am sooo proud of him and scared at the same time with the state our world is in. So see this has to be special. I want him to feel that I am right there beside him supporting him and praying for him all the way where ever he new chapter in his life takes him. So Moms and Dads...please help me on this one? Not even sure of good reputable sites to buy medals from. I was thinking of putting "Always with you" Love Mom on the back of the medal....Thank You in advance for answers I am not worried about my son making it..He has been preparing for this since August. Also he was an outstanding athlete in high school...football...wrestling..LaCrosse. He is mentally and physically as prepared as he can be for this. We are having a huge party for him in February to show our support for him. He has 4 friends that will be leaving also all within a month. He leaves March 20th. His MOS is....12b...Combat Engineer! Wraeth...do you know a website with picture of medal you mean? Thank you Shane...could you recommend me a watch...a website? Would it need to be black...do you know certain things that would be good for him to have on it. Does it need to be good underwater? I am sooo confused an only17 days till his party! Thank you Wraeth so much! Might be a weird question...but is orthodox catholic..aren't their beliefs different or no? Is St. Barbara catholic? I am Catholic but I do not go to church a lot. But I most certainly believe in God with all my heart. My son is not quite sure what he believes. So I want to help him the best I can from here. I put him in Gods hands the day he told me "Mom I enlisted in the Army". He can take much better care of him over there than I can from here. Thank you for patients Wraeth...much appreciated! The St Barbaa one does seem more appropriate for him being he will be working with explosives...read the article you sent...thanks again. St Christopher is for Army/Calvary...but St. Barbara is for enginners and people whose jobs could face the danger of sudden and violent deaths.....correct? Thank you for patients Wraeth...much appreciated! The St Barbaa one does seem more appropriate for him being he will be working with explosives...read the article you sent...thanks again. St Christopher is for Army/Calvary...but St. Barbara is for enginners and people whose jobs could face the danger of sudden and violent deaths.....correct?
should i join the marines, army or airforce? i enjoy camping, surviving in the wild, etc. i want to do something with history/science in the future. i like to learn about different places, people and cultures too. i am always pressured to join the marines but i don't like to swim much and they don't seem right for me. Are the marines really "the best" i don't want to be known as "not as good as that marine over there" SERE training looks pretty interesting too.
Fort Sill in a few months for the Army basic training? What is the learning like? Ik its a lot a physical stuff and marching, but that can't be all day. What other kinds of stuff do they do, or more so have to study for? Just curious if there is portions of the days that are more classroom like. The more info the better, prefer not just copied from a website, I'm talking real life experience. Idk if being a female has anything to do with it, but just what is it like besides the physical stuff, which I'm fine with passing already. Thanks for the help
the army is abuseing my brother? They only let him eat what they tell him to eat, he cannot have cheeseburgers or soda he is a healthy person who is in shape and not over weight. His one Sargent smoked him until he puked because he was " A white boy with a bad motivation". When him and his platoon leader were told to clear out a connex the platoon leader sat in his car and my brother did all the work IN THE SNOW while the Platoon leader took all the credit. They make fun of him and are always on his ass calling him all hours to mess with him. What can I do? He has gone to IG and his CHAIN OF COMMAND and they have been of no help.

I was discharged from the Army as an E-5 and was given a Severance check. It is tax exempt but i need help.? I was discharged thourgh a PEB board and my injuries occured in a combat zone. I am reading alot of different stories and have no clue what to believe. I want to know how do I recoup the taxes taken out because my PEBLO told me I would have to wait until I received a VA rating but when speaking with Texas Veterans Commission counselors I was told because it occured in a combat zone I should have requested the taxed amount last year. Can I still recoup this amount and if so how?? Please Help.
If the Army says Dragon Skin doesnt work, then why do Special Forces wear them? and other special ops units. Also generals wear them. wraeth and Haley, I hear it a lot. Here is a link to the website. http://www.pinnaclearmor.com/body-armor/dragon-skin/ "SOV™ flexible armor is completely fabricated in the USA for American Special Forces, Police Tactical Teams and approved foreign militaries." Haley, Here is another link. Just watch the video at the bottom. They say that CIA operatives wore Dragon Skin. They interview a soldier that wore Dragon Skin. They also reveal that a general and those who protected him wore Dragon Skin. http://www.liveleak.com/view?i=88b_1180997822 I don't expect you guys to do anything. I just want to know why the Army says that it failed tests but then allows Special Forces and generals to wear it.
Was The United States Regular Army In Japan ,S. America, Or Sumatra During or Before WW1? Let me start by stating im not a kid doing homework..... I am Looking for information to tie up loose ends on my Great Grandfathers life for 10 years prior to WW1. i know that he was a pipe fitter / journeyman plumber from Gettysburg's Pennsylvania. a very down to earth guy that had 11 kids and never went to far from home.. but between the ages of 17 and 27 when he was recorded doing service in the 79 th division of the U.S. expeditionary army. is a mystery.. i know that he traveled to Japan, Sumatra, and S.America,, were in S America? don't know. im getting this information from family sources and a magazine Article written about him in 1951,,, After he returned from service overseas, he was stationed at a army hospital in new jersey, meet my ggrandmother and only left jersey to visit gettysburg . the fire of 1972 destroyed any hopes of getting a military answer... Its hard to believe a man would travel that far from home to do plumbing work? was plumbing that new ? he work in a factory after the war as a pipe fitter plumber for many years, never opened a Business etc... a very quiet life.. i would think if he was that good traveling he may open his own Business and make better money.. he lived a tough time with the regular pay he made working ot whenever he could.. I was assuming that his travels were due to the military, but if the U.S. Army was not in these places, it makes no sense.. Any help would be greatly appreciated

If I find a job by summer time I want to move out into an apartment but also find a roomate to help out. if this goal of mine doesnt happen I want to join the Army. I want to join the US army but...? Hi, I would really like to join US army, but the problem is that I am not a US citizen. I don't live in the USA, and have no direct relatives living there. I am still very young (15 yrs old) and have plenty of time, as I am planing to go to college after high school. I am particularry interested in joining the special forces if I ever become a USA citizen. So my question is, how am I able to join the army exactly, what procedures does that involve? And if I serve some time in the army will I be able to join the SF like Rangers, Delta Force etc..? Thank you very much.
Help Joining the British Army? Hey Guys. So I'm currently 17, and thinking about my career in the future. I decided on a job in the army, as long as I will not be fighting, I don't want to do anything like infantry soldier, machine gunner, anti tank, or anything like that. I'd prefer more like working in an office. I was looking at regimental sergeant major (warrant officer) and squadron sergeant major (warrant officer) Do you have to earn this rank/position, or can it be grabbed by going through college and what not. Please help, I need some job advice? Please also explain the exact roll of WO, too. Please only answer if you know your answer will actually help me. - Jamie

So I wont be taking the ASVAB test until about may 2011. I have a while away but I really want to get the best book I can to study for the ASVAB. especially math. Also I am going to have one of my math teachers tutor me after school around May. Also, how soon should I start studying? Thanks for your help
What would be better going into the Army as: an Officer or Enlisted? Okay, so I have to do a career thingy (yes, a rather poor choice of words, but I'm hoping you'll understand what I mean) for Health class, and as I have been interested in the Army for quite some time, however I never had researched into the topic as thoroughly as I am right now (before I wanted to be a combat medic.) Now, I want to do Special Forces (and no not cause "iT kUel Lul derpa-derpa", but for more personal reasons) however I do not know if I should go in as an Officer or Enlisted. Now, I understand that if I were to be an Officer I will have no possibility of being a medic like I wanted to before (as I would rather help directly than be the main guy being protected), however if I were to be enlisted I do not get the same monetary benefits as an Officer, and while it does seem selfish I know I will want more money in the future along with more benefits towards me, and so right now I dunno what I should do. I know I have the intellect to be an Officer along with the leadership, however I want to help directly and when it happens, so thats why I also wanna be a combat medic. So: what should I do? And yes, I know under normal circumstances you cannot be an officer, however I know you can get it through ROTC or OCS, so just to let you know
What are the requirements and qualifications to be a Sniper in the US Army? Im 14 and every since i was little i have always wanted to be a sniper for the army. How hard is it just to get into sniper school?? Im in pretty good physical shape (13.5 minute 2mile, 100 situps in 2 minutes, 70 pushups-2minutes) Is this enough to qualify? Also what qualification tests do you take? Finally, how hard is the ASVAB? With this would i be able to pass? (im in algebra1 in 8th grade, and accelerated reading and english) THANK YOU
Advice on joining the british army? Hi im looking for some advice on joining the british infantry.im 26 yrs old and thinking of enlisting.i have always wanted to join but everytime i started to get myself in shape i have ended up being offered a job and have taken it.this is mainly down to the fact that i now have two kids(4&5).i have been to army careers and got advice from them but it all seems to be the same.its a good career/life for yourself and family.i have been out of work for about a year and i am struggling to find anything.i was working as a cleaner but it was the most boring job i have ever had.being stuck inside does not suit me,i would rather be hands on and graft away.i have talked to my fiance about it and she thinks it could be good for me aswell as the obvious advantage of being employed,i also spoke to.my mum about it and she said basicly the same thing.the thing im worrying about is being away from my kids for such a long time even though i know its not going to be forever.if there is anybody in the same position or anybody that has had this problem in the past could you please leave a message any advice would be appriciated.thanks for reading this and i hope to hear back from people soon.thanks

I'm a single parent, but would have my parents take care of them while in basic, training etc... Also, I have a diploma that I earned online because I was home schooled. I need some help from someone that really knows how all that works thanks.
if you recieve a chapter 11 in the army, how long before they send you home? my husband is at basic training and told me he and a buddy got into trouble and both got chapter 11s. thats all they've told him. I called and asked if I should still go to his graduation and they told me no hes not graduating. everything online makes it sound like you get sent home fast with a chapter 11 but it's been over a week. so I was just curious if anyone could tell me anything, thanks.

Are there any beautifull girls in the army? I'm not trying to sound like a jerk or desperate or like a player. I ask this with sincerity. I'm going to leave for basic training in a week. After that I go to ait. I'm going to be trained as a 15q air traffic controller. I am single and have not allowed myself to get a girlfriend because I knew I was leaving for the army and I didn't want to break any girls heart or be hurt myself. I want to know if there are any attractive woman in the army. I feel like maybe if I get a girlfriend in the army maybe we can understand each other better. I don't want to be lonely the woke time I'm In the army. Will army girls even consider me since I'm 15q. I would imagine they would prefer an infantry guy cause they think he's all manly? Are there any girls at ait? I need advice.
How do you get out of the Army Reserves??? HELP!? A co-worker of mine is very stressed and worried about this situation. Basically, he enlisted in the Army Reserves a little over a year ago. He went through the 6 week training (boot camp) in Oklahoma and continued on with the 1 wkend a month drills. He stopped showing for the one wkend a month drills about 6 mos ago because he said it was interfering with work and school since they were calling him in at odd times. He almost ended up failing a course due to this. Also, he says they didnt pay him for one of his 1 wkend a month drills. Also, he missed his schooling right around the time he stopped doing the 1 wkend a month duty. My main question is: Can he get out of the army reserves? If so, what are the steps to getting out. He's been getting emails from his officer and they sounds very threathening. It looks like hes going through some depression because of this situation. I would like to add that he served in the military (Marines) for 5 yrs prior and got an honorable discharge. Oops! I meant The NATIONAL GUARD not the army reserves...sorry for the confusion guys :/ He just laughed at me for asking you guys and he corrected me too. Thanks for your answers so far :)
Thinking about joining the British Army, Welsh guards? Hey I am really bored of civilian street and would like to apply for Welsh Guards as an infantryman, I play allot of rugby and compete in swimming, Thing Is, Is that I was already In the Welsh guards when I was 16 I was at junior camp, I had to leave due to some issues going on at home, I have recently turned 18 and would like to re apply, my question is that can I re join back?
I'm in the Army and I got in a accident. No Insurance.? I'm in the Army (E-3) and i hit somebody (small wreck) at the mall in the parking lot off post. They had insurance and i didn't. I know if it was on POST my unit would of found out about easily. I know I'm dumb. I have court in a month for a ticket. And i might have to pay her deductible. My question is. Will my unit find out about this. I talk to the police officer and a lot of my battles i work with and they said since its a "traffic" ticket and it was off post it shouldn't show up. Will it show up on the bladder report? I don't have a "Sergeant" that is in charge of me. I work for the Sergeant Major. And i really don't want to go to him to tell him about this. Or should i just pay my stuff off (ticket) and just stay quiet about it.
He is joining the army, i'm joining the airforce. support please? a few questions? hey there, my fiance and i are both joining the military once we are 18, and different branches. i have a few simple questions. first off, i plan on being an investigations officer in the airforce or security forces. my fiance wants to be in combat & infantry in the army. *i was wondering if we should marry before basic? *also, i am as strong as i can be, and i will support him and be a trooper for him, i am faithful and dedicated. but i cannot imagine how i would handle losing him. i never want to deal with him coming home with red white & blue draped over him, and i know this is a very real possibility. any suggestions on how to be a little more calm on it & stay strong for him? *and will we ever see eachother at all? thank you for your time.
My husband wants to join the army!? My husband is 25 and decided he needs more from his career so after talking it through he is going to join the army, I'm happy that it is opening doors not just for him but us as a family too. We have 2 young children and I just wanted to know how it will work out when he has finished training? How long can I expect to wait before we get married quarters? What's it's like being married to a soldier? We met in the navy so I have an idea of the way the military works but ive never been in this situation before! Any advice would be lovely! Thanks. I didn't ask how to discourage him I asked for information! Why are so many people so critical of other people's life decisions?! It's the British army! Thank you to those who have taken me seriously!
I want to join the army for small arms/artilary repair? Im thinking about joining the army and iwant to go for small arms/artilary repair. I havnt talked to a recruiter yet but i want to know what the pay is and what kinda of enlistment bonus i would get. Id also like to know any info you can give me on it so if any one has done it. Or still is doing it can you tell me about it No zz I am not in it just for the money that would be stupid... I want to serve my country and make something with my life but sorry if i am intrested in the money . I want to make a career out of it so yes the money is pretty important
Should I divorce my husband before or after he gets out of the army? I have been married for 4 years now. We got married not long after he joined the army. I left him because he was abusive. We never got divorced so he continued to get BAH and Separation pay and I continued to use Tricare. He contacted me one day apologizing and I asked him if we could get divorced. He told me that he didn't want to because he likes living off post(he is an E4 Specialist). I am completely understanding of this, but I don't want to be tied to someone I am not in a committed relationship. After telling him this he decided that he was going to give me $200 from every paycheck. I agreed to it because I have been out of a job for a while. He gave me $200 one month, $200 the next, then $100 a few months later, I haven't received anything since. I really don't care about the money. I never asked for it once. We are on semi good terms to where we can talk to each other, but I feel like he is deceiving me. I don't like liars and I just don't like being married to someone I no longer love. He is currently working towards getting out of the army. I think the reasons are medical. I don't mind waiting until he gets out so he can continue to live off post, but I didn't know if this was a wise decision. I have no idea what my rights are or what I should do. I have talked to some friends who are in the army, but they don't know much about my situation. I have been told that he is supposed to give me money because I am a dependent, but my husband said that the army does not say that. I have also been told from my sister that I could get alimony, but again I do not know anything about that. What should I do? I really need advice. If you know anything please let me know. I really don't care about money. I just wanted all the facts to be taken into account. I'm a passive person so I just want to avoid confrontation. I hate being married to someone I don't love. I am in a committed relationship with someone else. So being married bothers both of us. I just want to be safe and make wise decisions that won't hurt me. Thank you.
Can 17 year olds smoke in the army? I'm am 17 years old currently serving in the u.s. Army and i'm done with basic training and almost done with AIT. Gold phase is around the corner and once we pass a PT test we are allowed to use tobacco products. Seeing as how i'm 17 I still want to smoke, I did before I joined and it never really affected how physically fit I was. Yeah I know its un healthy and all but I want to anyway. I have herd from all sorts of people that I am allowed to and some others said no. some say I can smoke but can't buy it others say I can't to either one. Does the indian army have an armoured battallion? Please tell me their tanks and APC's are made in india..................................... "The Flamingoes" "The Yellow Boys" "The Chor Horse" "The Poona Horse" "Skinner's Horse" "Schinde Horse" Dead set, these are the names of some of their regiments!!! Sounds a bit camp to me fellas. All those sweaty indian bodies locked up in a tank for days on end. @ sanjay maraar - Scandiavian "soldiers", US training staff........... I can see how this involves Australia don't you? As a troll sanjay, you are an epic failure champ. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=daRqh0K0uuE This one is much better sanjay marar. Or this: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Kde574EZgfM
Can I join the Canadian military? I was born in Toronto. I left to Indiana in America when i was 2 and right I am 18. I am a citizen of the united states i have an American passport also. I'm planning on moving back to Canada after this summer when I graduate. Is there anything special I have to do to be able to join the Canadian army? And also am I still technically still a Canadian citizen since I was born in Canada?
Should Congressmen have to serve in the service in their life before running? I feel like someone who has the power to send someone to war(Congress can declare war) should have at least been in the military. What are your thoughts? I feel the same way with the President. Even for just 2 years, and I understand if there are no wars then the Congressman will not have fought, but I still feel like they should have been in some branch, whether it be navy, army, national guard, etc.
What part of the british army will get me to the highest ranks? I am planning on joining the Army after University but am not sure what part I would like to join. My aim is to get as high as possible and I plan on staying in the Army for most of my life (unless I get into politics). What I would like to know is which Army career will get me to the highest possible position of power.
How bad is basic training for the Army? Considering that I hate the rope part of the obstacle courses. However I've graduated for SLS (Summer Leadership School) for AFJROTC in the summer of 2008 and I climbed a 50 foot pole. It's just the rope and the whole high bar part I hate. Can I still be in the Army if I choose not to do those part or is it a requirement?
How hard is it to do college class online in the army ? I'm looking into the army and I want to be a mp but idk if I should go active or reserve because I really want to finish my college degree and maybe be a officer later down the road so how hard is it do to online classes on active duty ? Will I have time ?
What are the advantages of Army Reserve over National Guard? Everywhere I've found answers to why National Guard is better: better educational benefits, constitutionality, better experience, etc. I mean if the National Guard is definitely better than the Army Reserves in everyway, nobody would be joining the reserves. But strange thing is I haven't found any information whatsoever on internet forums in regards to the advantages of enlisting in the Reserves over the National Guard. Thank you in advance if you have any information on this.
Should I heal my injuries before joining the Army? I've been working out to get ready for Army and am decent, but hurt both elbows pretty bad and it hurts when i do push ups and pull ups. Should i heal so that i completely fresh for Army? I hate to lose what I have gained but fear what may happen if i join the Army while it gets worse yes yes i will still do core and runs and the theraband is a good idea
What is life like in the British Army? Hello, im 14 years old and plan on enlisting When I'm 18 years old as a British Army Musician without a degree. I am a pretty good 1st trumpet and vocalist and I am wondering how is life in the British Army? What is it like?
Should I join the army when I turn 17? My life is sh*t and will be after high school. I want to join the military to die faster. I hate this world. And I know after I graduate, I will become a nobody, this is why I want to die faster.
What happens when you join the army? I was thinking of signing up at a recruitment centre to become a Private (Brian, lol) But what happens after, where do you go and learn how to use modern weapons?
can you change your job in the british army? i was wondering if youve been in a specific role for 4 years in the british army can you change to a different job for example if you were in the logistics corps could you move to REME and get a different job? cheers

Should i join the army, the police service or continue studying school? Hi , i'm matt and i'm 16 years old. I've always had a lot of respect to the soldiers in the army and lately i've been thinking of when i turn 18 i`ll enroll into my nations army and my dad is supporting me all the way and he always tells me to continue doing something i love and something that i won't regret... But my mum would rather have me join the police service because she said," You have to have a lot of discipline in the army , and it's also hard work." And she also wants me to continue school, studying business studies or whatever and become an accountant or a manager cause she says it pays good and im pretty sure it does. It's not like i'm not good at school , it's not that at all. I just don't want my job to be in an office, behind a desk , working on the businesses's shit. I'm sure that you'll get bored as hell after a few years. I know that in the end i have to do what makes me happy but i just can't make up my mind.. Any tips or advice would be much appreciated and thank you for your time :) - Matt.
Should I join the army? I don't know what to do. I feel it's just a one year of waste. It's no the army, army, but the one year nubcamp army. I got two options in my head that I just can figure out for the sake of my own life, join the army and wank around there for a year, OR, continue working, save up money for education, get my drivers license and just straighten up my life and get started. Any ideas? I know it's a personal question and I can only answer it myself, but maybe there's someone here with a personal experience who can give me an so-so answer?
Joining the Army while on probation for 3 years and 6 months license suspension? I was just thinking about joining the army last year until I made a dum mistake and drove my friend drunk to take him home on New Years. If i complete my 3 days in Driver Intervention program and pay all my fines can I try to enlist or will I be denied? Is it possible to go back to court and ask them to drop my probation if I join the army or no? I also dont have any College credits but i have a GED, Will I have to go to college and get credits first? I got charged for a DUI btw, Im 21 and and it was the first time I ever got in trouble Should I just go to local community college for about a year then try to enroll? I think there is a mandatory 1 year waiting period to wait after you get charged with a DUI before you can even apply. I dont want to be a truck driver or anything I just want to be in a base over seas maybe as a normal soldier or something. I understand what I did was wrong and I deserved to be punished for it . That was my first real experience with drinking alcohol because i had just turned 21 and I should've made the right choices, now I have to suffer for it. Never drink and drive folks! get a designated driver or a cab
When i enlist for the Army how many years can I serve in the Active Duty maximum!!!? I'm planning on enlisting in a year and to get an 11x contract with option 40 which would grant me a chance to become a Ranger correct? But i want to make a "career" out of the Army, while being in the Infantry/Special Forces. Is that possible? Like to serve 20+ years in the Active Duty doing this(Infantry/SF)? I qualify physically for the demands of the job. I train hard every day in preparation. Its my dream to be SF and i wont stop until i am. thank you for all the answers!!!!
How can I join the Army? Hi, I'm 18 years old. I am almost 6 feet tall and way only 130 pounds. To make a long story short I got my GED and am ready to go to college. The thing is I am very unstable at my house, and it's my fault. I am reckless with friends, disrespect my parents, ETC. Pretty much like regular teen problems, just amplified. I think the Army will discipline me and straighten me out but I am so skinny. I LOVE working with computers, and I don't mean playing on them. I can fix them, use them like not allot of average teens can, and much more and willing to learn more as well. So to summarize it all up, are there any special fields in the army especially for electronics, if so what are the requirements and how soon can I get started? Please just give me straight forward answers, I need them fast. Thank You.
Will they ever raise the age for Army OCS again? I just heard that the minimum age for applying to OCS while serving in Active Duty was lowered to 29 from 25. Needless to say I am heartbroken since I was set on serving my 4 years as 35F intelligence analyst and applying for OCS to become an officer, I am currently 29 years old. My original intentions were to make a career out of the Army but since I just heard this I am considering my plans. My question is will they possibly raise the age again for applying to OCS? I am currently in the delayed entry program but since hearing this I'm not as excited as I used to be and I don't feel motivated. Any help would be appreciated. I heard this from the future soldier center since I am in DEP. They said it was changed to 29 and gave me this link http://www.benning.army.mil/infantry/199th/ocs/
How long is drill days for the reserve? I am 17 and want to know about the army reserve. Besides the two week training per year you have to go to drill once a month... now, must you go to drill for an entire weekend, or can you only go to it on sunday. It would be considered working on the Sabbath if I were to go on a saturday(religious reasons), and want to know if there are exceptions...
Prior Service Marine Reservist to Army Active Duty? I am a Marine Reservist with about 1 year and some change left on my contract. I would like to join Active Army when I get out of the Marine reserves. Is Active Army accepting prior Marine Reservist. What does the Army look from a Prior Service Marine reservist, does my rank matter? Thanx!
what branch of the military to join? I know everyone is going to say your joining for all the wrong reasons so if thats all you have to say please don't answer but here we go. My friend was in the marines 2 of my friends just left for the air force and another one of my friends is leaving for the army in a week, I'm going to join a branch but i want to know what branch would be the most fun between traveling places getting stationed in different places making friends. So what military branch is the best to join to have fun and travel? a job idea too? thanks for the help!
Joining the army with a sealed record for possession? When I was 17 in California, I was expelled from high school for having some kind of drugs in my car. However I do not know what it was, because it wasn't mine. They said they weren't charging me, just releasing me to my parents. I went to court and I took the fall and got into a program called DEJ where you do a year of probation and any requirements and after a year, your record is sealed. I've seen a copy of my record, printed from the courthouse and it says Court Cases and lists the numbers and dates and then just says "SEALED". I know they will see my record regardless if it's sealed, expunged, etc. But can I still enlist if I'm honest and tell the recruiter what happened and don't lie. I want to serve this country in some form and I don't want a stupid mistake that happened in high school to affect my future for the rest of my life. I haven't been in trouble for anything else, just this. I asked it this way as well, because most answered it for the USMC, no one really specifically said anything about Army. And there are differences between the two branches as far as standards and qualifications. Not that I disregard what you said, Maurice, just wanting more opinions on straight Army. Thank you. I still have a diploma. And 15 hours of college credits from a year at DeVry University. I was allowed to finish my year out in high school.
Does the usmc have a split op progam? Does the USMC have a split op program like the army? So I can go to basic training summer break junior year? And can I enlist at 17 with parent signature?

If Something were to happen to Obama inside the US, would it start a race war in the US? Even though it's not about race, why somebody attack him it's because the US government is injustice, but there is that someone that would claim they did it because of his race. Do you think this would start a race war, even within the US Army? Would it be the break of the US and would a New country step us while we are weak? -Sir Black Mamba Lol @ dejele
Can i join the US army at 17? Sup guys. Im 16 years old and i have my heart set on joining the military. I recently heard about this program called the delayed entry program where i wait a year before shipping off to bootcamp, so i was wondering if i join this program and wait a year can i still join the military? I am the youngest in my class and i should graduate really early. i should be 16 or 17 by the time i graduate and get my diploma. I have always wanted to join the military ever since i was 4years old, so its never been a problem bringing up the topic with my parents, that i want to join the military. they are used to it and they are completely fine with it. So can i join? My plan was to enter the delayed entry program now and by a year i should be done with high school and be ready to go. So will i be able to join?
Where are the jobs for a 19 yr old unemployed college student in D.C.? I have experience in Fed Government, private sector, and retail. Everywhere I apply, I get rejected or no response at all. I don't even have enough money to go back to the community college i've been attending. My mom breaks her back to pay for my tuition, and my dad sits on the sideline. My dad is trying to force me into the AF, because my elder cousin was forced into the Army. Due to my high EFC, Financial aid is more of a Financial Debt. I currently network, but haven't had a interview yet. Any advice would be appreciated.
How should I convince my mother to allow me to join the Army as a future Ranger? My family will not want me to join but I should be able to convince my father and he would be OK with it, but my mother will cry and will be very sad. She has already said that she doesn't want any of her kids to join the military and that she would rather we went to college. FYI my brothers and I are all the top students in our respective grades. I am American.
Does the army accept people collecting social security income? Nothing is wrong with me and I don't have any medical problems or disability, but they give me SSI monthly. I been getting it since I was like 6 years old when I had a learning disability determined by my public school and now I am 19 and still collecting in even though I am in college now.

How would you join the army? Since I was young I always wanted to be one of those cool looking soldiers with a big machine gun shooting everybody but as I got older I realized how much of a big step it would be to take. How would an ordinary civilian like me join the army? I'm 14 and taking my GC SE options soon so i need to think of the qualifications I need is there a person who could come to my house and have a chat about it? Many thanks - Louis

I joined the army in April 2011. I already had my masters degree and was working in the field of Health? Administration. I came in enlisted (E4) so that I could get my student loans paid off. Since I have finished basic/AIT and reported to my unit I have been told that I could possibly qualify for a direct commison. I have looked into this but for what I have found in the Health Services Field I only see that it is avaible for the Army Reserves and not Regualr army. Does anyone know if this is true and where I can start to find out info. I am stationed at Fort Stewart, GA.

National guard while husband Is in the army? Does anyone know if I could join the national guard while my husband is active army? He leaves for basic soon and I'm considering joining th reserves so I can pay for school. If I joined now and then had to move in 8 months (when he finishes ait & basic) would the national guard change me to where my husband is stationed at? Or would they expect me to stay in the same place? He leaves march 5th for basic and it's going to be a "healthcare specialist" I've posted a lot of different questions.. I'm just trying to look into all my options. Would me being in the guard affect his bah money? Would I still get my wealth benefits from the army since we are married? Thanks
Would This DQ Me from Joining the Army? I am 17 years old, and I used to see a therapist when I was 13 because of domestic violence. It was family counseling and they found nothing mentally wrong with me. Then when I was 16 I had a crazy ex girlfriend who stalked me constantly and threatened me. I contacted her guardian, saying that she (my ex) is driving me crazy, and I just wanted to kill myself. But I didn't mean "kill myself" seriously! Her guardian contacted the cops, and a cop came to visit me, talked to me, and took me to the local station to have me talk to someone. I told them what I meant! They referred me to a counselor, and after a few visits he could find nothing wrong with me so I didn't come back. I've been fine ever since (this all happened early in the summer). I have heard that if you are an adult and keep it quiet (not exactly lie) then they can't get into your childhood files. Is that true? If so, should I not tell them of this? I know I'm fine, as do the doctors. I was never put on medication or on suicide watch. Also, I was never told I had mental issues, and that I wad normal, as were my actions. This was all out-patient therapy and we just talked. So should I keep quiet? Will I be asked about my mental background? If so, what do I say? I have wanted to join the Army since 7 years of age!

Where should I go when the zombie apocalypse happens? I'm assuming the army will have been destroyed based on the scientific research that directors of zombie movies have carried out. So where can I hold up and be safe? What kind of weapons should I stockpile? What should I eat or farm? Should I get a helmet or are they after more than brains nowadays?
Possible deployments in the army? I'll be enlisting In February and will likely be infantry or some other combat related I would think. Maybe fire support specialists.... So what are some possible deployments now that Iraq is done? I suppose there is still Afghanistan

I am looking to join the Australian Reserve Army in the next few years and had a few questions.? I was in the British Army for 8 years and have since emigrated to Australia, I will have my citizenship soon and will be eligible to join. Is it as strict as the British army in regards to haircuts and things most civvies see as normal? What is the chances of getting sent to Iraq or Afghan as I wanna go back but the ADF website seem to promote the places like Hawaii and Asia? Is there any other major benefits other than the tax free pay? Will my UK security clearance and Military courses be recognised or will I be back to square one? What is it like in general? Any more info from real people who are in it would be appreciated as obviously the web site and recruitment teams are promoting it and I have already made my mind up so I would rather just have the facts, Cheers
When you enlist in the Army do you have to reveal every traffic ticket in your life? I am looking into enlisting in the Army and was wondering if you have to reveal every ticket in your life. I probably have around 50-60 ever. Some I can not even remember what they were or when i got them. I got my drivers abstract but it only goes back three years. I noticed on Standard Form 86 it says only the last 7 years and fines over $150 only. Does anyone know?
Can you draw unemployment if you are in the Army reserves? I am currently AD Army but I ETS in Sep, but I am trying to join the reserves for the medical/dental benefits and when I finish my degree I can easily transition over to the officer side. The reserve pay only covers benefits and I will have only approximately $20 left and this is nothing. Please let me know....THANKS!
Can I still join the army with scoliosis? Can anyone tell me what degree of scoliosis if any is allowed? I want to join the army but am not sure if I will be accepted I don't have a severe case as it isn't even noticable when I stand, the doctor only noticed it when she had me bend over for a back check, she doesn't think it will get any worse but I will know more soon when I have the x-ray done. Any help will be appreciated. Thank you in advance!
Whats the pay like in the Australian Army? I really want to join the army, its been my dream since i was a kid. i just want to know what kind of benefits there are in the army and a general idea of the pay? also, do you get holidays?
Do the Salvation Army people have to ask the store if they can ask for donations? For example, if you walk into Walmart and there's a man ringing a bell with a bucket for donations. Do they ask the store if they can do this? My friends and I wanted to do that this year but were unsure. I'm just wondering if we could do that this year. Would people donate if we weren't official Salvation army workers, though? How can you become a worker, if not? Thanks in advance! (By the way we will be 14 & 15 year olds.)
question joining the army....? so i was thinkin about joining the army but i dont wanna go fight because that means killing someone and im really ctholic so i coundent do that. but i would like to be the pearson that comes to help and deliver supplies in case of a natural disaster like a hurricane or earthquake for example. is that possible and would it be hard to get in the military?
Difference in tasks of the Marines and Army? I always hear that marines are amphibious and they take off from the sea along with the navy. despite this, i see that marines do other stuff as well. everybody thinks of the marines as the guys that come from the beach and wreck people but ive seen them wreck people from other places as well. for example, the movie jarhead shows that marines stay in the battlezone for extended periods of time but people always tell me that marines go in, wreck people and leave, whereas the army stays in the battlezone for extended periods of time. having said this, who does what? do the marines go in and get out? or go in, stay, and then leave, or is that what the army does. and in terms of missions, whats the major difference. because if marines can come from the sea and land, why what do they send the army in for?
How much free time do you usually get in the Army? I'm enlisted and my MOS is 15H Aircraft Pneudrolics Repairer. My hobby is computers. I love learning about hardware, software, networking, and i like to program. I was wondering if i'll have a few hours a day or so to myself, or however the "free time" situation works.
Thinking of joining the army 24 y/o need some advice? Alright im 23 just graduated from the Missouri sheriffs academy and having a hard time finding a job, I've decided if I don't have one by my birthday im signing up for the army. If I go this route I plan to retire in army. I would obviously go in as 31b seeing as I already am trying to be a cop. Im kinda worried about bct though, im in pretty good shape I've been into weight lifting my whole life but im not so great at long distance running, im overweight on the army charts but my body fat percentage is pretty low. I guess getting to my question is I know I need to run more apparently but what else could I do to get ready for bct and from just the little I've explained would I be successful in the army.
Should I Join the Army? I got out of jail about 8 months ago and i was there for 60 days, it wasnt prison just my local county jail, but i miss it, i mean i had everything in there and i felt structured for the first time in my life, now that im out i feel depressed and miss the feeling i had while i was in jail. i live with my very rich parents and even though they hate me they give me everything and alot of money, so technically im rich but my life is so meaningless all i do all day is drink and watch tv and then party at night and sleep with random girls. but in jail i felt like i was really experiencing life, i even met some old friends in there and i had a blast playing cards with them, while i was in there my alcoholism got cured but now that im drinking again. im not saying jail is good, my third day in there i got my beat up because i threw my sandwich at a big black guy and i spent about a week in the infirmary with a broken nose and cracked ribs but apart from that i felt alive in there for the first time in my life. how can i get that feeling back? i though about doing something stupid and going back to jail, but that wouldnt be a good choice what if i ended up in prison, or i thought about joining the military but they probably would take a millionaire rich momma's boy seriously... so please give me some advice? ive thought maybe the army would give me that feeling back but im not sure my charges arent really a problem- the reason i got sent to 60 days in jail was for- Public Intoxication, Disorderly Conduct, Resisting Arrest and when i went to court i got an extra 30 Days for telling the judge F You
How to become sergeant major of the army? I'm a sophomore in college and I plan on enlisting as a specialist when I graduate. Pleasee don't waste your time trying to compell me with that ROTC/OCS nonsense. I don't want to be an officer. I want to have an enlisted career in the Army. Bottom line. But I do want an education before I start any career. I also would really like to become the sergeant major of the United States Army, and at the very least, be a high ranking segreant by the time I retire. How could I increase my chances? Would I have to get an advanced degree as well? Would my best option be enlisting as infantry? Thats what I'm leaning towards. I know its a very big goal, but I am motivated. Also I was planning on joining the reserves for my next three years of college, then going active duty after I graduate. Any advice would be great. Also a Merry Christmas to you and our troops overseas. What's a fleshlight? When I say "nonsense" I only mean not for me. Those are very great commisioning programs and officers are very crucial, but hte point I'm trying to make is that I have no desire to serve as an officer. It's just my preference.
Questions about becoming a 68W in the army.....? I've been thinking about becoming one once the time arrives. Could you just give me a great amount of info. Do they see any action do they carry a sidearm . And what is the training like. And step by step instructions to becomeone, different position on the job and any other general info. All answers appreciated, and don't tell me to go to "goarmy.com" or any other websites( I've already been there, that why I'm here). And one more thing is there a difference between a combat medic and a health care specialist. BTW this is all in the army. Up-to-date info would also be nice. Thanks!
Do you get benefits in the Army with a GED and 15 credits? I heard that if you enlist in the Army with only a GED and they accept you you will not receive any benefits . I also heard that if you have a GED and 15 college credits it equals to a high school diploma . Does that mean I would receive benefits ? Also I read that you have to have a minimum score of 31 on your ASVAB and a minimum score of 50 with a GED . So does 50 not apply to me if I have my credits and a GED ? And lastly would I be eligible to be in the Army Rangers? What do you mean the 100 level?
What is the offical age of consent law in the state of minnesota? I am 16 almost 17.My boyfriend is 20 and is in the army. We are 3 years and 7 months age difference. From what i've heard, age of consent is 16,and within 48 months of the person over 18.My moher knows his age and knows we are dating. But people have told me that it's still illegal because he is over 18 and that he can get kicked out of the army for breaking the law.Is our relationship illegal? we're within 48 months, and my parents know and approve.
Do you think the US will bring back the draft if "we" wage war against Iran and North Korea? Similar to the Vietnam era one, as when they had a very large population of 18 - 25 year olds but needed an increase in the military(mostly infantry), so they could afford letting more deferments go, where as in WW2 they rarely let deferments go. In Vietnam 25% of the Army infantry and a little over 10% of the Marine infantry were draftees. Compared to WW2 where 66% were draftees
Is the Air Force a good place to go if you want to start out in life? Well I am 23, no college background, nothing. I have been laid off for over a year, I am 6'0 190lbs, in good shape, I am a very motivated person and I have a cousin in the military although a different branch. I would like to join the AF, or Army. Which ever one. I just would like to do my duty to my country, and also get started in life(college, training, etc)
How to go about getting discharge from the army reserve before basic and join the AF ? I recently joined the army reserve, I was brain wash by my recruiter so I end up choosing a job that i didn't like (wheeled vehicle mechanic but I have BS Information Technology and I want something more computer related in the 25's) . I haven't been to basic yet but I am leaving soon in like 3 months so I told my recruiter that I want to change my mos but he does not gives me a concrete answers and my shipping day is getting closer. So I want to get discharge from my reserve commitment so that I can join the active duty AF since they have more computer related jobs. So how should I go about about getting discharge from the army reserve contract? I really want to server my country however, I also want to enjoy my time in the service and enjoy what am doing.
How do you pass Army Officer Candidate School? I begin Army OCS three days after I graduate from Basic in May. I am planning on succeeding. I'd like to know from people who have experience or familiarity with it, how does one pass OCS? In addition to having the necessary items packed and the preparation I will receive in Basic, what should I do to prepare? For those who have gone through OCS, what do you know now that you wish you knew before you entered? Thanks in advance!
How to change your MOS on the Army Reserve before basic? Hello, I am currently a senior in college and I recently join the army reserve however, since I didn't know any better, my recruiter kind of pressure me to take an mos that I didn't like. As a result, I recently told my recruiter that I really want to change my mos but I feel like he is not taking me seriously because every time I ask him he changes the topic and he keeps telling me not worry about it for now and that I still have time (I still have 5 months left till basic).I feel like he is going to wait till the last minute just to tell me that it is not going to be possible so that I am force to go to basic with my initial mos. Is there anything I could do in order to avoid this potential situation ? Could I refuse to go to basic if my mos does not change?
What is the best Army game? It's for my dad and he likes some of thoose games. He was in the army so he likes the shooting games but he's not a huge fan of call of duty. He likes the computer game command and conquer ALOT. Any games like that?

Then another when the main guy was pertending he was about to shoot one of the soliders . And one when they were in the desert and a car passed by them with a woman in the backseat looking at them . Do you know what movie this is ???
is joining the army right thing to do ? we all know that our next war is likely to be with Iran .. now i am Iranian , but came here when i was 12 , im 17 now .. do you think it is the right thing to do to join the army and fight against my birth country ? I love my nation , America , and love to serve my people (American people) ..
My boyfriend is joining the army..? My boyfriend is joining the army and wants to marry me. I have no doubts about our relationship and I want to marry him, but my concern is.. I own a horse. I haven't had anything to do with the military before, so this may be really stupid. Will owning a horse be difficult with him in the army at all? As in, finding a place to board her etc? No rude comments please, my father owned her and gave my horse to me before he died on the condition I never sell her. I have no problem with what I pay, I currently pay around $800 a month for her board and feed etc.
Is going AWOL from the Army a felony? I'm going through a custody battle right now, and I'm trying to build my case against my ex. Here is the situation, my ex claims that an Army recruiter signed him up for the Army, forged his signature, and he had NO idea. Well, about 3 years later, he was pulled over and arrested for possession of marijuana and that's when he found out that he was AWOL. He stayed in jail for 30 days, then was shipped to Ft. Knox for another period of time. He said he was given a dishonorable discharge. Would his "AWOL" conviction be a felony? He carries a gun, but tells me he has a license for it. I have never seen a physical license, but I know you cannot get a CCW license if you have a felony. He is a mechanic, so there is no need for him to carry a gun. He is into this whole thing of trying to make himself seem like a thug, and I guess the gun makes him feel good about himself. Any information or helpful websites would be greatly appreciated. Thanks

Is it possible to enlist in the United States Marine Corps after a PT failure discharge from the Army? A while back I failed 2 PT tests over the course of a semester while in the Army ROTC and was discharged. I am also prior service National Guard. Since then, I've been able to whip my lazy butt into tip top shape and am able to crush PT tests. I got a 96 on the ASVAB when I enlisted, and am 1 semester away from having a Bachelor's Degree in Psychology. I want to enlist in the USMC, is it possible considering my history? I'd appreciate only answers from qualified sources. Thank you.
Are the Corps of Cadets the same thing as ROTC? I am a senior who wishes to join the army ROTC program at A&M university, and I stumbled upon something called the "Corps of Cadets". Is this the same thing as ROTC? If not how is it that I can get into army ROTC at A&M then? Your answers are much appreciated!
What's the best army in history? Considering their power relative to their respective era, which army was the best of all time? You have plenty of choice with: -Hitler's Wehrmacht -Roman's S.P.Q.R. -Alexander the Great's greek -Ghengis Khan's mongolians -US army -Great Britain's imperial army -Atila's Huns -Napoleon's french army -Soviets' PKKA (paysants' and worker's red army) And much more... To me, the Roman empire is still the greatest of all time; they were able to learn and mimic enemy's tactics, we had to wait until Napoleon to see infantry maintaining such a fats walk pace, they still are the only army that dominated mediterranean lands. But, for you, what's the greatest of all time. Make your choice and explain to get the points!
Negotiation assistance for joining the US Army - have degree? I'm 30 male, and meet the requirements for service. I did well on the initial exam (according to recruiter). I've signed nothing yet, only expressed an interest. I have a bachelors in nutrition science (I was planning on being a registered dietitian, however, that may have changed). Would like to probably work in specialized type of combat service within US Army (it's only branch which is lenient enough with my weight(5'10 - 280lbs to be exact) for acceptance per my understanding) - where can I find more info)* Considering officer training and may possibly *consider future as a contracted private military work after The recruiter said as I am a minority it should be much easier for myself to get in, and get a nice officer job. I also told him I like wearing my hair to a certain length and I am not in to all that "military style" cut, he said he could defintiely work on a happy medium How do I get the most of this: I have an outstanding student loan debt which needs to be paid off (I still have time for a deferrment and even if Army was not an option I could become a certified nutrition specialist which entry level salary can pay around $60k where I live, apparently) I need to move out of the home I am currently in and am not particularly concerned with place of deployment at present. I could fit in anywhere. I am single, no kids. I'm not desperate, I have other options, but I'd like to communicate with maybe a recently retired US Army recruiter or private military company rep who can tell me what path I'd need to take or negotiating skills I could use when getting set up for service. I'm a very intelligent guy. I don't think it's a pipe dream: I eventually would like to make a 6 figure income post-military career doing contract work for US Gov as an individual or for a company, preferably individually; either that or working off contracting, possibly, registered dietitians through medicare B (I figure a military background would add to my credibility as well). I also want to know, if in the military, can I get authorization to use my own body armor, choice of weapon, gear, etc...if it meets approval (in the past I heard of shortages of soldier fatigue and inadequate or out-dated armor). How much independence do I have in the process of being able to go beyond basic training and maybe choose a specialized type of soldier (e.g.: sniper, bomb deactivation, paratrooper, etc...). I am not scared to take on a dangerous job but I also know standard issue armor is perhaps considerably less effective than others I could maybe choose or customize on my own if that were possible. My boy boy owns a gaming shop and he is a really good guy and can customize anything you could dream of. I also would feel more comfortable in my own "stuff". I am a big guy, and once I get set off trust me I will take down a whole village all on my lonesome, man. I would rather bring MY gear Thanks a lot guy. I just want these dudes to give me a nice bonus, and all of tht good stuff(i have a degree, 2nd I am a minority which scores some points as it should, and etc, etc) anyway the guy really wanted me. i told him i wanted to join up with the crew badly, but on my deal, where i get my things. it is not a one way stream, you know. paid, trained, killer, comes at a price guys. Who ever take the time to answer my question is a great man and person, I think you all deserve the best answer, but yahoo only allows one. So please give me you best, so I can do the same for you. God bless baby

( year and half left). And please mention anything i may have missed and how to get in and what to expect in the PARE and in the PRAB. I Agree police are F**king corrupt and there ass holes but its either be a dead beat loser or join the r.c.m.p so please only serious asnwers
Should I join the military before or after college? I'm currently in high school JROTC, and I want to join the Army after high school. If I go to college, I would like to take ROTC. Should I join the Army beforehand to pay for my college, or finish 4 years in ROTC and join the Army as an officer? I'm an honors student and I generally get good grades, do my homework, etc.
I'm thinking of joining the military, Marines or Army? I'm a 17 year old senior in high school and have no clue what to do after I graduate, and since i was in ROTC my freshmen year and liked it i was wondering if I should join. I feel unaccomplished and lack direction in life and I feel like joining will give me structure and direction. What do you think?
Anybody with US Army experience? My boyfriend just swore into the Army a few days ago and his job is Field Artillery Firefinder and Radar Operator. I'm extremely nervous because I feel he'll probably get sent to Afghanistan and it scares me. I don't want anything to happen to him and I can't lose him. I was just wondering how dangerous this job is and how safe he'll be just to ease my mind so I won't worry as much.
can i join any part of the military if i have pkd? i was diagnosed with polycystic kidney disease when i was 15 and now im almost 17 and want to join the army reserve, i havent had the chance to ask a recruiter yet but i want some peoples opinion before i go and get rejected.. im not supposed to have any severe medical problems until im like in my 40s or 50s so i was wondering if they would actually let me join the army reserve, its pretty much my dream, but i think it was ruined by PKD
If I said I wanted to join the military what would you say? Was born in America but spent most of my life in Ireland.Kinda confused about which army, navy, air force, marines.Like to hear your opinions and which branch of the military takes your fancy.Btw I'm talking about American military,Irish does peacekeeping but the Irish ARW do work with other special forces.
Army EOD School Questions? I enlisted into the army as 89D-EOD Specialist (Explosive Ordnance Disposal), and i was wondering what happens if i fail AIT? And what are the chances of failing out? like a wash out rate. any other info about AIT would be nice. I ship out on 6/25/12 to Fort Jackson for 9 weeks, then to Fort Lee for 38 weeks. Thanks!
What should i buy my buddy for christmas? He has completed college and he has joined the army. he is doing exceptional and he is going to become a pilot for them. The gift does not have to be "pilot related"; i just cant think of anything "A G-Shock watch" Fantastic Suggestion. Unfortunately, he already has one... If you have any other suggestions, I welcome them. Thanks Anyway if i don't hear back
Army ROTC Student Loan Repayment Program question? Can someone explain to me how to the Student Loan Repayment Program works for Army ROTC cadets. I am currently a MSIII. I currently got $6,000 worth of student loans. Before I graduate I calculate $12,000-$13,000 in total. I plan on going active once I graduate (I am a nursing cadet, so I automatically get active). I am just want to know how the program works. Will I have to pay any of my student loans back. I know the army will divide my total by 3 and pay 1/3 of the total amount on my anniversary, but will I have to make payments until the army starts paying or do I send something to my loan provider saying the army agrees to pay. I would go to the HR but she's a quack that doesn't know what she's talking about. She's always messing up someones paperwork. Will it effect any chances of me getting a bonus? Any information you can give me and the program will be greatly appreciated. I don't have anyone at my ROTC program to ask. Really only $1,500 a year? that's $4,500. So I have to pay the other $7,500 to pay for? Or will they pay $1,500/yr for as long as it takes to pay them off (7-8 years)
Femalr going into the military? So , I am a 15 year old, homeschooled , female from New Jersey..And recently I have been thinking of my future a lot more . I've been thinking of joining the army when I turn 18, I don't think ill be getting much support from some people .. But I will from some others. I realize I could go into the army at 17 instead of 18,but I highly doubt ill get parental consent . I've been thinking about joining the airforce as well ,(im not sure what I want to do yet) So,I have a few questions... Would I be more safe in Germany than Afghanistan? Since I am a female,I wouldnt be fighting on the battlegrounds like men would ? What would I be doing in the army? At first without knowing I wouldn't be treated as the men , I wanted to fight on the battlegrounds...But someone has brought it to my attention that I cannot since I am a female. What exactly do females do in the army? What exactly do females do in the airforce? If I go for the army , I would be sent out of state for basic training; would I be sent to somewhere closer to New Jersey ? These might sound like idiotic questions to some, but I am trying to learn about the Army and Airforce..I don't really know anyone who's in either so I don't have anyone to talk to about anything to do with the military. This might be long , but ill appreciate any answers and I will pick best answer. Female* not femalr. Phoney question ? Huh? This is a legitimate question. Thankyou KC for your answer
Joining the Reserves After Active Duty? I got out of the Active Army in 2008. I have just recently talked to a IRR recruiter about joining the reserves. He expects my orders in 3-5 days. I apparently have to change my MOS and I have no problem with that. What my question was is this the same AIT that i went to after basic or is there another school for prior service. Also any other comments. Thanks No I dont think I actually had any in my AIT
Am I the only one who perceives Ron Paul's hate toward the human race? He wants to stop using the US army to fight tyranny and instead use it to fight peaceful and working immigrants. He already said that as a President he will give another interpretation to the 14th ammendment that will allow him to give citizenship only by blood, one of the most extremely racist ideas I've heard in my life. The only reason why he doesn't propose to use the army against businessman or competent men is because he would lose all his support, but he surely desires it. Just think of the expression of hate in his face and in his tone of voice when he talks about immigrants: That hate is hate against the whole human race, but the USA voters only allow him to unleash it against immigrants. Am I the only one who perceives this? @Stevenson: and still you can't refute my arguments...
So just how good was the Roman army compared to armies of the other empires? I was taught in school that the Roman army was powerful and one of the best armies in history but on the contrary, when I see History channel I see that Attila the Hun and Hannibal had no problems defeating the Roman army and either one of those people could have easily taken Rome had it not been for pure luck. So here are my questions 1. Was the Roman Army really all that powerful? 2. What armies (or empires) in history would have an easy time defeating the Roman Empire in a war?
Can I join the army and take automotive technician courses? I would like to know if I can join the army for say about 2 years and still take courses in automotive technology while enlisted.I always wanted to experience the military life and do my passion for cars at the same time.If it is possible.
Can my stammering keep me from getting in the Army? I plan on enlisting in one calander year, but I have a stammering problem. On a scale of one-ten, it would be a 3. I have problems getting out certain words like 'and' (my studdering is trouble getting words out, not the constant sounds or repeating sounds). Can this alone keep me from getting into the Army if its a mild case and I go to speech therapy?
Why can't you get a waiver for marijuana but you can still get a waiver for a DUI in the Army? In my opinion getting drunk and getting behind the wheel is worse than smoking a joint in the privacy of your home. If you can't join with a drug charge you shouldn't be able to join with a DUI either. Before anybody accuses me of being a sore person who was rejected for the Army I'm already in and have been in for years. A recruiter buddy of mine told me about it and thinks it's funny.
Why didnt the US army side with the Serbs during the Balkan conflicts? I mean during the Bosnians and Kosovan wars the US and NATO (All Christian nations) were supporting the Muslims to carve up their Iranian Islamic style states right in the heart of Europe? Was the US stupid to support Muslims against its Christian Serb brothers? Or was it guilt? Making Serbia pay for the crimes of what Israel does to the Arabs? They sided against these Orthodox Serbs some of the truest and most devotest followers of Jesus Christ- Ameen
Have a question about a man i dont know in the army. Is he trying to scam me? This guy has been talking to me on facebook and he is suposedly in the army and is in Afgainastand. He is a tank driver. I never met him and we live in diffferent states. I was at a guy friends house and i told him i was, he got mad and wonted myfacebook password i world not give it to him and he got even madder. Later he sais he was sorry and his son had to have surgery he told me and later he says he got the bill and he wonted to know if i could come up with something to help his son. He is devorsed. Need opinions on best Army MOS that will help me most in the civilian life? Please no stupid 11b or 19d responses. Im prior service and have a high asvad score. Im 23 years old, I served 3 years, made E-5, got deployed, went to sniper school, and i'm currently at the university of Nevada with only 1 year of school left. I got on this to get opinions of what others thought was a good mos, not to argue what I have done.
HELP- Will Pityriasis rosea keep me from joining the army? I'm joining the army. I've already gone through MEPS and have been qualified. I recently developed Pityriasis rosea which a non-contagious rash that will take a few weeks to disappear (according to my doctor.). If this does not clear up in time for my ship date will this keep me from being shipped out? If you know please tell me! Thanx!
Does the GI Bill work for out of state schools? My father has been retired from the army for a long time. He served 17 and half years and now has been employed by the Sheppard Air Force Base in Wichita Falls for about 5 years. My father says he qualifies for this GI Bill (which I hope he does) and wants to give his college hours to me. However, my father believes that if he did so, then I would have to go to school in Texas (where I am now a resident). Is this true, or can I go to school anywhere in the US?
Joining the Army, what medical job to pick? Im going to join the army... That part was easy... I want to enlist in the medical field, but for my future, i would like to know what are some of the best medical jobs to go into... Alot of people are telling me xray tech...That would be a nice job after the army, but just really wanting to know what is going to bring in the most money....
Is it difficult to get the opportunity to train in special forces? I think that I am mentally tough enough and physically fit enough make it threw most special forces training, but how hard is it to get the chance to train in green berets, rangers, and force recon, school? I'm joining the marines or army and would like to get into special forces If they will let me try.
Getting into the Army? I just took the practice GED a few days ago, and scored an average of 660, with a standard score of 3300. I am taking the GED on Monday, and am confident I'll pass. BUT, my main concern is getting into the Army. I want nothing more in life then to be a soldier. It's been my dream since I was fifteen to be a soldier, and now the time is finally close. I turn 18 on December 30th, but I'm incredibly concerned they will not accept me with a GED. I did take a ASVAB Estimate test, and I scored a 67. But am I eligible with a GED?
Boyfriend being in the army is killing me.? My boyfriend has been in the army since we were 16, (we are now 22). It is breaking my heart seeing him so little now, He is away for months at a time based in iraq currently. I see him for 3weeks sharing him with his friends and then in almost no time he is gone again. I desperatly want to ask him to stay but i know how much he loves his job. How do i do this? he is very stubborn and proud of his job. The only way of him cheating is for him to be "with another man". He works for the us government asides from working with the army. there are no females on his squad just 4 other men of whom i know!. 6years is a long time for you to turn around and say he is cheating. thanks
Is it reasonable for homosexual groups to boycott the Salvation Army for upholding Christian sexual ethics? The Salvation Army does not ask about anyone's sexual orientation when it acts to help the poor; the Salvation Army just helps the poor. http://www.onenewsnow.com/Culture/Default.aspx?id=1491094 Interesting that the sexual left will try to destroy our most selfless and effective charity to justify practices that spread HIV and syphilis. But then again, they've already compromised marriage, the family, and the military, and they are working to put generations of children at risk. Why not throw the poor under the bus, too?
too underweight to join Army? I want to join the Army but I am 10 pounds underweight but in great health. the recruiter said there as a ggod chance MEPs doctors wont allow me to join...despite whether or not my doctor (a MILITARY doctor) recommends me for a waiver. is this true? my friends told me i should just go find a new recruiter
What are some good weight loss techniques? A little background: I lift weights heavily 3-4 times a day. I'm a football player, and I play basketball. I plan on joining the army after high school and I need to loose some serious weight. I am 6'2" ( without shoes) and I weigh about 310lbs. My goal is to get down to about 215-220 lbs. So what are some diet tips and exercise tips? (the heavy weightlifting is required by my coach, so that can't change) appreciate any help though!
How do I get out of living in a dorm? I'm going to be enrolling at MU-C (University of Missouri, Columbia) in Fall of 2012. I already have an apartment, and a year-long lease. I don't want to have to spend the additional 8000 on living fees for living on campus. I'm turning twenty in May, I have a job, and I am currently serving in the Army Reserve. I just really don't want to live in a dorm. How do I get out of having to do this?
Combat Deaths Since 1945: Army 72%, Marines 26%, Air Force 1%, Navy 1%, Why are they paid the same? You can join the Navy or Air Force, and never touch a gun, ever go a day without clean clothes, never miss a meal, never miss a hot shower, and never miss a nice sleep in a warm bed. Air Force or Navy isn't actually a branch of the service. It's a job. It's more dangerous to deliver pizza in New York or Chicago than to be in the Air Force or Navy in wartime. It's more dangerous to work for the power company, or be a roofer, or drive a truck than be in the Navy or Air Force. ellesdee I know I have won when the other person has not a single FACT at their disposal and and just throw insults. True Patriot I love it when people who were never in the military tell me that military people do not want money, or to be paid. Newell Love 13 Year old Boys Your name says it all. You have mental problems. Only Coward Block Ha ha. You are stupid. You don't know that WWII was in 1945. Idiot. ellesdee Army 72 Marines 26 Navy 1 Air Force 1. Spin that. You can't. All you can do is cry like a little girl.
What are my chances of getting in the Army? I am worried about going to meps with all my history on my medical records. Two years ago I went to the hospital because I fainted in school, and they ended up diagnosing me with Vasolvega Syncope. They told me I needed to drink more water and exercise and it's something that will go away. The doctor prescribed me on a salt medication would help retain the fluids. About a six months later I was in the hospital for a Kidney infection. It went away but I got two more urinary tract infections later on. I ended up going back in the hospital for passing out again and was prescribed on the salt medication again about 4 months ago. Once again, told to exercise and eat better and I'd be back to normal in no time. I exercise all the time, drink TONS of water and feel great and no more UTI's. but I am worried about mentioning any of this to MEPS. Is it really that important? I really am feeling great, and I drink a lot more water now (before I hardly drank any at all) and my health is fine. I also am in school, and will have college credits to present to them, also have awards from the state of Maryland for community service and such. I just dont want something as stupid as having a UTI or being dehyrated to ruin my chances of enlisting. Does anyone have any good advice??? Please help! Also I would like to clarify some things: I've seen two different cardiologist, BOTH have said Vasolvega Syncope is NOT a heart condition. As a matter of fact, they both said my heart is in perfect condition. For some reason people think its serious. It's not really at all, I was dehydrated which caused the episodes. I just don't know if they are going to except me, and as far as my UTI's I've heard it's common for girls to get them. Also I was curious if there is a way to find out if you are medically eligible before going to MEPS? Is there someway to just have a recruiter contact them and ask about my situation. Because neither one of these issues have really been a big issue....if that makes sense haha
if russia invaded the usa wat if? wat if they got past all the usa government air forces navy an stuff an started shooting civil life do the people of usa right to start shooting the russians till the army shows up
Top secret clearance and the media? I'm going to be army EOD and the job requires a top secret clearance, but there's a show called "Bomb Patrol" on now where they basically show the equipment and techniques that EOD uses. What's the point of requiring clearance if they're going to show the stuff on TV? No dude it's top secret, I just had the interview with the investigator.
How long it takes min and max to get married in Oregon.? I was wondering how long it takes to get married cause my fiance and I are getting married and we have two weeks. He's in the Army and when he comes back from basic training we have two weeks so we want to know if we should do it before he goes or after?
Is it okay to be denied Holiday Block leave in the Army? Today my "higher ups" announced that some of the personnel in our company will have to stay behind during holiday block leave because more than half will be gone. Is this okay? I haven't been home in a year and I'm afraid that I will have to stay behind because I am denied leave. This means that I would have to cancel my non-refundable plane tickets along with telling my loved ones to do the same. What should I do?
what types of weapons in the army will be used near its defeat? Given a scenario in a total war, industries are destroyed and resources are scarce, will equipment such as m1a1 tanks be in production and m-16 still be used for example or will there be cheaper alternatives for such weapons as an immediate solution to dire crisis. (Scenario related to Germany at its end stage in WWII)
Life as an officer in the united states army? Hey guys, I was just wondering what life is really like for an active duty army Infantry officer. What will they be doing on a daily basis, and how long will their workday be? And why are my Florida Gators killing me?
Can I get a bonus in the Army? I have a GED with some college credits, and I want to join the army and money is probably the most important thing to me since I can't find work, so what ways can A guy like me get some kind of bonus? (Please do not say stay in school and earn your 15 college credits because if I could I wouldn't be trying to join the army I would go navy)
Really thinking about joining the army...And have a few questions.? First off I would like to join the army being enlisted and get into the Warrant Officers Candidate School...and was just wandering how hard it is to get into that, specifically the aviation area? Second how hard is the math portion and General Technical Portion of the asvab (ASVAB) test? Thanks in advance D.H.
Herped test or join in the army? The Herpes always gonna pop up in the test even when theres no symptoms??? Does the army test 4 herpes???? If I have herpes with no symptoms they will accept me
Breaking up for wrong reasons, joining the Army? ok me and my boyfriend are both 18 years old and we're joining the military. Anyways we've been together for 4 years since the beginning of high school typical high school love story. He's joining the Marine(waiting to ship out) as for me I'm waiting to ship out too for the Army. He asked my hand for marriage which seems sudden and I think the only reason he wants to get married is because we're both joining the military. I honestly can't see myself getting married sooo young maybe when I'm 30 or did everything I wanted to do like go to college, study abroad, would looooove to travel to India. He seems so set on getting married and starting a family and I seriously do not see myself as being a mother EVER, it's not like I hate kids but I think I'm a selfish person and quit frankly I don't want to be a mother. Maybe it's because he grew up as a Army brat and his parent married young. Also sometimes he makes childish marks about Muslim and gays. I grew up in a part of NYC that has a large Muslim population therefore have alot of Muslim friends so I feel uncomfortable when he makes his comments, he takes it abit too far. Basically our ideas and opinions on things are different and I don't think we're as close as we were in high school so I want to break up. Any advice I'm sure you could guess where I live, to anybody in the Army. Maybe you were station there lol Shan do you consider gays your enemies because he seems to talk trash about gays too. Of course he thinks he's being funny but he's not and it makes me uncomfortable.
Can I be med boarded from the Army? I'm wondering if I'm eligible to go to the MEB. I'm already on a permanent profile for a severe case of chronomalacia in my right knee and it's only gotten worse. I can't run at all without severe pain, and it's the same case for jumping, squatting, kneeling, etc.. My knee hurts just walking and especially wearing an IBA. The reason I ask is because since I got to my new unit they've been giving me an extremely hard time about being on a profile. This unit is a very high scoring unit for PT. They're always talking about how the Army no longer needs people and kicking everyone out for various reasons. The way I've been getting treated here is absolutely miserable and if I'm going to be treated this way because I'm injured than I'd rather not even be in anymore. When I was first issued the profile, the caregiver at the time mentioned something about possibly being unfit for duty but I just tried to suck it up and keep going, which seems to have made my condition worse. I made a Appt. here to see a doctor and I'm just wondering what you think my chances are of getting a MEB. Thanks
Were there at least SOME U.S. Women who served in the army in WWII? I don't know why, but its bugging me. I was watching Combat! and i thought about it. Were there at least SOME women who actually fought in WWII? In the USA? Not as nurses, radio people, or pilots and what not, but did SOME actually go out with a gun and fight? Even as a sniper in the US? Anyone know? I like learning about the army and WWII and just realllllyyyy want to know. Thanks All the answers are helpful, thanks. I think its kinda stupid they couldn't actually fight. At least today it's a little better except for the infantry. Thanks everyone
whats a good medical mos for the army? im 5'6 and im light so doing phyiscal things is harder for me then others, whats a good mos thats medical and that doesnt involve too much heavy physical strain
Im in the army buying a house off post? My question is when me and my girlfriend get married which will be before my report date to my next duty station can I buy a house off post without permission from my next duty station or without them knowing so that I can have it ready for me and my wife. She wouldnt move with me right away because of course I would have to have the marriage license for proof of marriage. Now when I get there and show them proof what will happen? will they give me time to go to the house and get everything situated with it? will they pay to transport my wife her kids and all there belongings to the new place? Will I have to check in with them upon arrival to my new unit ? and also Im needing some advice on when to actually purchase the house I dont have much time between now and march 10th when would be a good idea to look and then actually buy?
Men, who gave you the rights to have a soft life? Men must join the army. Back then you were forced to join it or you would've been shot at the shooting range. Should all men be forced to join the army? Back then it was compulsory. Now we gave men too much rights to be free. Men belong in battlefields not home.
I have a question about the military? Would having Asperger's syndrome disqualify, reject, deny from joining the military? Such as the army, navy, marine, and air force. If so I would like any recent info on this subject. I also have ADHD but i'm not very hyper I just have a hard time focusing when people talk to me. That with my Asperger's syndrome also make it hard for me to remember stuff and add even more of a hindrance to my attention span.
what role did rising prices play during the revolution? a. they encouraged more men to enlist in the continental army because military pay increased with inflation b. angry americans voted out congressman who had approved the paper money that caused the inflation c. they prompted protests by americans, especially women, who took goods from merchants whom they accused of hoarding d. they led the continental congress to obtain huge loans from catherine the great of russia e. they prompted the writers of the constitution to ban paper money-a provision that later was repealed
now that the troops are coming home and the war is over? is it a good idea and safe to join the us army my family would like for me to join the army but i was scared of dying in the war but now that the war is over would it be safe to join and is the army a good career choice what is life like in the army
What are some pros and cons for females joining the Marine Corps? I am thinking about joining the Marines, I've always wanted to for some reason. I just wanna know what to expect. What are the worst things that could happen? Do females go in the combat zone? OH, and i hear females get raped and treated badly mostly in Marines & Army, is this true? some people say that what happen to women is what they allow to happen. . idk. I don't want you talking like a recruiter, I just want the flat out, honest truth.
registering to vote for the primaries? i live in new york city and i was wondering how i go about registering to vote. i turned 18 in june and i dont know if it matters but i joined the army in october. and i was also wondering if theres a difference in registering to vote for the primaries and just registering to vote. thank you
I need to know the name of a movie.? Whats the name of the movie where the army fucks up and brings different realities to earth? The man in order to save his family from a horrible death shots everyone in the car just to find out that it was the military. The man who plays him is the first punisher.
Army party games for 14 - 16 year olds? I am having a army themed party and i need some ideas for it. I have got: Water fight and a obstacle course ( with things like the army crawl, tire run etc.) any ideas?
Muslims in the Military? Are Muslims allowed to serve in the us army? I want to join the army when im old enough so i can show that i'm as patriotic as other americans...Do they ask about your religion before you get in? Will i get a lot of problems? I hate people like the first guy that replied...It's extremely discouraging. and for the other dude that replied, how can you tell me to go back to where i came from when i was Born in the United states...I belong here.
What do Infantry soldiers do at their First Duty Stations? What do we do all day on base? I am hoping if I request Fort Hood I can get it, I go to Benning for OSUT in February. Im pretty sure ill be using the 240 since they usually give that to the big guys, but what do we do all day through the week other than PT? My recruiters also told me if i request Fort Hood i would most likely receive it, being Infantry, but they said then again its all about the needs of the army
Advice on US Army or Marines? So I've decided to join the Military. I've definitely decided to join. That won't change. But I still have yet to decide on which branch. I really want to be an infantryman. Which narrowed it down to Army and Marines. I've done quite a bit of research and looked into a lot of stuff. To be honest I can't think of a decent reason to sign up for Marines. Other than the title, honor, and pride. I know, I know. That's a dumb ass reason. I just feel it. Like it might be a good option for me. Since I've been fighting my whole life. As for Army, I feel career wise it would be the best choice. Thing is, I would want to work my ass off to make it far. I would hit the ground running since basic to AIT. I'd sign up for Infantryman in AIT. Then I would try to work to be accepted for Rangers or SF. I wouldn't be happy with what I've done in the Army until I earned something. Any fool can pass Basic (I feel that goes for Marines, too. Not like you have a choice once you sign, right?) I would want to be all I can be (lol) I just feel like Marines is that. It's more than likely just the hype people give it. I have no doubt in me that Marines aren't better than Army. I think I'm just letting hype get to me. Nevertheless, Marines still run through my head when I think of signing. But before I sign the dotted line I want to hear advice or opinions from people. Only bring rivalry here if it's funny. i.e. "If you are delusional and think you are better than everyone then join the Marines" Side note, After I serve (I'm not sure the Max, but If I can sign for 6 or more years I will. You get pension after 20. Damn good if you ask me. Which brings me to ask, If I sign for, I don't know, 10 years, get out, then re enlist for 10 more will I get pension still?) I'd like to go into the Law Enforcement. Heard they like Military guys. Not sure if that goes for Army or any branch. One last thing, don't be a smartass! I KNOW Military isn't fun. Or like Call of duty, or Battlefield. I'm not a 12 year old kid. I have a good perception of reality. So don't bring your crap here. BUT if you see me making a mistake. Like, I know I don't know a lot about Military so if I wrote down something that wasn't right I'm sorry. One last thing x2, 1st, I'm not from Australia, I'm from WV USA. 2nd, I DON'T WANT TO JOIN AIRFORCE OR NAVY. "HAIL OH HAIL INFANTRY" Anyway, thanks in advance.

What are some good engineering jobs offered by either the army or air national guard? Im an air force rotc cadet studying mechanical engineering and im going to enlist in either the army or air national guard. ive looked into the corps of engineers but it seems like it is mostly civil waterway work and they will most likely make me a constryction worker with a gun. So what can i do that will give me job experience to transition into any kind of civilian engineering job.
What Is The Army Motto in Latin? I wanna get a tattoo for my grand father who was in the U.S. Army and i cant find the motto in latin for the meaning of that. If I search it and its giving me all different ones and i dont know which is the right one so if anybody knows the real one and can let me know asap that would be great.

What happens if you quit the army? What happens if you are in the middle east, in war and you just dont go out with your men, stay at the base and decide that you are going to quit?
why 21 drinking age? If its ok join the army and get a bullet in ur head at 18.? Its ok to go into the army at 18 and get a bullet in ur head, which is also hazardous to your health but don't you touch that beer. Do you feel laws like that are why youths disregard so many reasonable laws because of the outragious ones that don't make sense? I'm 29 and can legally drink I just fell if they are adult enough to go overseas and get a bullet, then they are old enough to have a beer.

My husband is in Ft Jackson basic training for the army! I was wondering is he will be able call on weekends.? His phone will be taken up on Saturday, and he said he will be able to call me then for a few minutes. I didn't know if they would allow him to call on Sundays or if I would not hear from him until Christmas. We will be coming home for two weeks for Christmas and I didn't know if they would take that from him for any reason? Right now i am motivating him but it doesn't matter what I say he keeps saying all this is not worth being away!
Whats the outlook for army ocs? I have a B.A. 3.5 gpa. And im planning on applying to Army OCS. haven't taken the asvab yet, just brushing up on some math first... I Was wondering if any active or retired vets could tell me the outlook for ocs? Anything you noticed? I know the military is shrinking, and they're making cuts, but its my main goal to be an army officer. Any info is appreciated. Writing from iPhone, sorry if there's any typos.

Should I join the ARMY OR NAVY?READ BELOW? I dont know whether to join army or navy cuz I dont want to die but I want to get action in the army, and den in da navy I dont want to sit on a ship all day. I looked at being an arteillary man (the person in the tank) and I wondered would I be safe in the heavily armored tanks, like the STRYKER, M10A1, and M10A1
Crappy credit and the Army? A few years ago I got myself into debt. My credit score is like a 575...I do have positive things on there from the past 2-3 years though. Will this keep me from being able to join the Army?
want to join the Army, but my parents are putting pressure on me to marry a potential husband!? Hi, im Sarah. I graduated HS last year and i made my decision to join the US army. I spoken to the recruiter been though MEPs and im suppose to leave in 4 months to Fort Jackson. However, 5 months ago, my Parents and I was invited to my Aunts Boss house for a Party, and their I met this 50 year old multi Millionaire. We talked for 3 months and my parents was cool with it. Now just 2 weeks ago he proposed to me to get married with him. Since then my parents are putting pressure on me to marry him and that is really not best interest. This man, is a director of some department in FOX news, IDK wth he does but all i know is he is rich, and my parents think if i marry him life will be easy for them..I dont even know this guy that well. What should i do im only 18. My parents are from Greenland.
Will the U.S Army accept me with this? ok well the Army's all through my family, and the air force, my great grandfather faught in WWII in the Army, my grandfather was a AF Pilot, my dad was in the reserves, my brother lloyd was in for 4 years, the Army for 2 the Nat. Guard for 2, my uncles been in for 37 years and is still in today he's been deployed on several occasions, my sister was in the Army for 6 years as a MP. and my cousin was in the Army from 1990-1996, 6 yrs. i'm in middle school 7th. grd. i do pretty good in School but i've got Attention Defecet disorder, and in texas you do not have to be off for a year, only 6 months( icalled a dallas recruiter for proof), and just need a note from your doctor and your clear to go if you have ADD, and you need a highschool diploma, but i will know ima grad. but anyways, i use to have ADD very very very very bad, now since i started the meds. and now i stopped for a while it became very minor, and i still want to join the Army, would it keep me from getting the MOS I want Infantry airborne, the rec. told me that it wouldnt affect much at all and she said i'd be able to join easily will i be able to get Inf. airborne? and will MEPS have the right to look at my Medical records?
about women basic training in the army? im 20 years old, and im joining the us army. i know it wont be easy, but i have a few questions about basic training. i run 2-3 miles every other day of the week, could do about 6-7 push ups(working on that) and over all im in good shape. i weight 138 and im 5'2 so my questions are.. 1) dose it make a difference how u do in basic training or as long as you pass your all the same? 2) do u have to cut your hair when u go to basic training? 3) is it a good idea to start studying what ur going to be learning in basic training? and anything i should know before going . thanks!!!!
I'm a girl thinking about joining the army, but can't be in infantry? Alright, now I've got years till I'm actually thinking about joining the army, since I want to go to college first, but I have a problem. I heard that girls can't be in infantry? I understand the physical differences (like how girls can't handle as much weight as guys because guys have more muscle fiber) but is there absolutely no chance? The main reason (it's a little childish) is because I've always loved WWII, especially the airborne infantry, and I've really wanted to be in it. Also, can girls be combat medics? If so, what are the requirements (for both medics and just basic training)
can i join the Army with ADD? ok well the Army's all through my family, and the air force, my great grandfather faught in WWII in the Army, my grandfather was a AF Pilot, my dad was in the reserves, my brother lloyd was in for 4 years, the Army for 2 the Nat.
Should i join the army? i am thinking about joining the army, but i haven't talked to anybody who has given me good advice. yes, i am going to finish high school, and i am not going to join unless i am 100 percent about it. i have talked to my second cousin in the army, but he is an asshole, so i couldn't get anywhere in the conversation; and the recruiter was bad, he was trying to get me to join. he would tell me anything to get me to join. i have grown up around the army my whole life (cousins and other family members are retired from the military, but they are really patriotic and they were mostly in the navy and aren't big fans of the army). I just want to hear from someone who is not a super-patriot, has PTSD real bad, or someone who says stuff like, "war is not a video game." No shit it's not a video game. i'm not a 5 year old. what's basic like? Hard? what is it really like to be in combat? and any other information would be helpful. I don't know if this matters, but i run track (good, not the best) and i do some thai boxing.
Army JAGC - What is the fatality rate? My little brother is a third year law student and just applied to join the Army as a lawyer. As her older brother, I've always tried to protect him as much as I can and the idea of him being in a position I can't protect him from really bothers me. At first, I didn't care because I figured he'd be doing paper work somewhere in America. However, he just told me there's a good chance he'll be sent to Iraq if the Army accepts his application. How worried about him should I be? My cousin was supposed to be a electrician when he joined the Army. Two tours in Iraq later, he's yet to fix anything with wires. I feel like the military can just assign you where ever they please, and I'm worried my little brother will be sent into combat as well.
My boyfriend is thinking of joining the army, what should I do? My boyfriend just told me he is thinking of joining the army and hes dreamed of being a soldier since he was a kid. He has met with a recruiter and he has to lose some weight but not a lot. He is in weight loss boot camp and has joined a gym so he will lose it fast plus he knows how to lose it fast. He is going to be 20 in a month and I will be 19 in november. We have been dating for over a year now and we have talked about getting married before he told me he wants to join the army. I have read the differences between an army wife and an army gf. i am fairly sure he is joining the army. i won't leave him because this is his dream and he needs someone to stand by his side and i always have. i think we should get married if he joins and gets deployed. what should i do? My future goals is to have a family with him and be a nurse. possibly an army nurse. i do support him in every decision he makes. i will always stand by his side no matter what. this is his dream and i will not stand in his way, and he does the same for me.
Becoming pregnant in the Army, but NOT a soldier? Ok. So I'm planning on going into the Army but only as maybe a Vet. Tech. or Photographer. NOT necessarily a soldier doing combat. However so is my boyfriend and I don't really care if you think we won't last. We're trying to plan it out as best as we can. So my question is that since I will not be a soldier what is the typical process for having children? Will I still be asked to resign? Will I have something similar to a pregnancy leave? Or what? I've read several articles about soldiers being asked to resign but seeing as I will technically just have an Army Career is there any difference? Thanks for any and all help :)
Which branch of the military is more chill? I am considering going into the service but I do want to know which is more laid back. I heard the navy is less physically demanding but I feel like in the Army there's more pride. I guess overall, which requires the least amount of physical fitness. I know they all require you to be fit but which has the least amount?
I want to join the army but i had a question a year ago i was miss diagnosed with lupus basically the doctors? got it wrong i had inflammation in my body that triggered the test to pop up positive and now im better i was immobilized for 3 years basically i was in chronic pain for 3 years and then a year ago i started getting better no pain and i exercised lifted weights and everything and no pain they think that it was just inflammation in the body they don't know what caused it, it basically cured on its own. My question is do you personally think they would let me into the army with my medical record like that? Id really love to join.
Today I became a 12T in the Army Reserve, what is it like, and how could I change my job? Today I became a 12T in the Army Reserve, what is it like, and how could I change my job? Today I went to meps, I was expecting to be a combat engineer but they didn't have it and said they weren't going to have it for a while (they seemed like they weren't bullshitting me, probably wrong though) they listed all the jobs, truck driver, water purification specialist, human resource specialist, horizontal construction specialist....just a bunch of jobs that aren't really.."cool" at least not to me, the 12T, Technical Engineer was the closest thing there to combat engineer. The thing is, I HATE working with CAD, I hate math, but I do like designing stuff etc. To be honest, I'm really pissed I got put with this job, I'm very upset with myself that I didn't hold off and see if I could get a different job but they swore up and down that they truly were not going to have any slots for combat engineer. I will be going to school in San Diego next year, my recruiter said I can see if they have a combat engineer slot when I switch units or if I do ROTC then I can pick a new job, or if I re-enlist. I really would appreciate it if someone could tell me a lot or a decent amount about Technical Engineer and what they do and how I would go about changing my mos to 12B-combat engineer or 21B... same thing I suppose.. Thanks a lot guys, I'm pretty worried I'm stuck with a stupid job
is the army really for me . . . . do i have what it takes? i think it would be an awsome job with great pay and great benefits but everyone thinks its a good idea to join as a builder or electrician but i want to join the sas is my dream but im not if thats wat I want or just wat i think i want how will i no if i have the balls and mental strength for this
Is the British army really the best in the world? We have won more wars than I can count, or at least not lost any. I would personally rate the USA as the best, but taking them out the loop are the British the best army in the world. Without nukes, what would happen if Russia/UK started having a bust up or China/UK?
should i tell my friend i love her before i join the army? There's this girl im in love with, ive been best friends with her sense like first grade. id tell her but the problem is what if she dose like me i don't really want to put her through all the trouble of dating a soldier i know its a hard life. should i tell her or stay quit and see what happens if i come back?
Chapter from the army with family care plan? I'm heading back from deployment soon and I will be getting chaptered for a family care plan on good terms, but my questions is what will happen with all my leave days I have.. will they give me the same benifits as someone ETS and get paid for a extra two months while out? Anyways just wondering if anyone went through this and how soon should i start applying for my college tuition?
How do join the Army? I'm 19 and I want to join the Army but I'm skinny but I have health and exercise. But I have a handicapped hand which I can't grip sometimes will they still qualify me?
why is the british army still recruiting? why are they still recruiting if the government are saying their going to sack a load. I am currently in the process of joining and it makes me wonder is it worth it with all the cuts.
Has anyone taken the army swim test? I'm a 25 year old female currently in DEP. My MOS is 88K watercraft operator so, I imagine I will be having to take a swim test at some point. I know doggy paddling just isn't gonna cut it so, what advice do ya'll have for preparation? I know swimming is obvious but, what kind of routine would be beneficial? Thank you.
What was the German government doing that formed the Red Army faction? I know that the German government was deemed fascist by the founders of RAF or something along those lines but I don't know the details. wrong Red Army. I don't mean the Russians. I mean the German Far left wing extremist group the Red Army Faction (RAF), formed in 1970 by Andreas Baader, Gudrun Ensslin, Horst Mahler, and Ulrike Meinhof. wrong Red Army. I don't mean the Russians. I mean the German Far left wing extremist group the Red Army Faction (RAF), formed in 1970 by Andreas Baader, Gudrun Ensslin, Horst Mahler, and Ulrike Meinhof.
Tattoos and the army? I want to join the army, but my friend told me that my tattoo might be too obscene. Here's what I have: On my chest, I have a human heart over where my real heart is, and veins and arteries coming out throughout my chest, stomach, and thighs, like a picture of the cardiovascular system in an Anatomy book. Kind of like this: http://tedheims.com/wp-content/uploads/2011/02/Cardiovascular-System.gif Is that inappropriate for the Army? I did not ask for an opinion on my tattoo. I am proud of my tattoo and if you decide to insult me and not answer my question, I will report you to Yahoo Answers.
what is the book about an army dog in the gulf war? I know it is fairly recent but cannot think of the name or the author. Thanks Triandon, but that was not the book I was after. The one I was thinking of is about a dog or dogs actually working with the army in the Gulf.
Would it be better to join the Royal Marines Commandos or The British army? Well I'm not entirely sure I'm going to the military yet but my 2 closest friends are (Well one is defiantly, the other isn't 100% sure but probably will). Hopefully I'll do good in school and college and i'll go to university to get a few degrees then when I come back from the military I can land a well paying job. I've watched a lot of training videos of the royal marines and I like the looks of their training. Anyway one of friends is planning on going to the royal Welsh and tried persuading me to go to the army instead. Which would I be better off joining? on the second line I meant to spell definitely of course the spell check is useless. Also i'm not just joining because my friends are, you people are so picky.
I am graduating this December with my Masters degree and I want to join the Army or Marines. What to pick? I am a 26 yr old female. 5'2" and 115 lbs. Mostly muscle. The problem is my age and I am not sure how I would do on a 3 mile running test for the Marines. (I don't like to run--maybe I just need to get some tips on running?) I will be 27 in December, however I can easily do 200 sit-ups, I can do crunches, you name it. I love weight training. I heard that if you go through the Officer Candidate School (10 weeks) and get injured or can't keep up, you are done. I am just thinking worst case scenario because thats the way I think--If I were to get dropped from OCS, is it true that you CANNOT join any part of any military? Like if you wanted to just go into regular boot camp, could you, if you got dropped from OCS for some reason? I just want to be clear that I AM NOT A IN THE BUSINESS OF QUITING. I just know that due to my age, height, ect. it may not be realistic to try to go through OCS for the Marines. Any advice? Maybe I should just go for the slightly easier route and then I could be E-4 starting in the Army if I just joined up regularly (since I have my Masters). I am at a huge conflict here. I really would love to be a Marine Officer, I just am not sure if my little body would be able to handle all that they go though. ADVICE PLEASE (Especially from anyone who has gone through OCS) THANK YOU!
should i join the British army as an officer? i have to decide weather or not i want to join the army by the end of this year as a regular soldier or to continue my studies for an other year and then join as an officer. i really want to join as soon as i can but i think i will get a lot further as a officer( i want to be a linguist) can anybody give me any advice?
Can I get into the army with a reenlistment code of RE3-E? I was in Navy boot camp when I came down with 103 fever. I went to medical and they look through my record, and noticed that I took anti-depressants a year before. So I was discharged from boot camp and now I am right back where I started, sitting on my ass. I know the army takes just about anyone so do I have a shot?
What can I expect to score on the offical ASVAB? I took my practice ASVAB yesterday, at my recruiter's office. I have a GED so I had to score a 50+. I am joining the Army. I scored a 50.26 on the AFQT. He said it is harder than the ASVAB as well. He said i'll do fine. I am just wondering though. What should I expect to score or what will I possibly score?
What happens after basic training in the Army? I'm curious, after you go through basic training what happens next? Can you go home for awhile or do they just ship you somewhere immediately? Can you see your family and friends after your training?
How to enlist with the army as an E4, without a 4 year degree? I have read on wiki, that you can enlist as an E4 if you have "civilian-acquired job skills". I have over 48 hours of college credits, which puts me at an E3. I have worked at a sheriff's office for 2 years. I'm going to enlist for 31 Bravo and I'm wondering if that would be enough to enter as an E4? Thank you all for all your help. If you know of any informative websites. Please post, thanks again.
How do I find people I served with in the Army? I'm trying to find some friends I served with back in 2000 to 2002 in 3rd platoon, C Company 5/20th Infantry. Danial Massey and Nathan Wright were 2 of them. I've been to several sites that want you to pay money to sign up and then that doesn't guarantee that I'll find them. Isn't there some free service for veterans to find each other?
I want to join the Army but...? I don't want to become a pawn in the Military Industrial Complex. I don't want to be a tool for the U.S's imperial conquest. Ive always wanted to be a soldier. How am I a troll?
Joining the coast guard with epilepsy? I have been wanting to join the army for a very long time. But with a chronic, yet controlled condition with medication. I am disqualified for that and the other armed forces. Fom my understanding this is not armed, but a uniformed service. Would there be any exceptions to that. I already can pass any of the physical requirements, but not the medical evaluation. Is it possible, and if not, would NOAA be any different?
Enlist in the Army or Navy? Well i plan to enlist after college. (PLEASE no one say i just become an officer, I'm not interested in becoming one, pay isn't really a concern.) So with my degree, would i get a bonus or automatically enlist as a E-3? I also heard about a 2 year enlistment? Are there only specific MOS's and rates? I'm not very concerned about this, but I just wanted some info about it. Army= I would want to be UH60 Repairer and try to become a door gunner, or any other MOS where I could become a door gunner Navy= Gunner's Mate, Corpsman, Operations Specialist, or Master-at-Arms Anybody with exp. in either of these branches and jobs with information is greatly appreciated :) What was your experience and would you do it all over again?
Can an Officer in the U.S Army be a Combat medic then SF? Can an Officer in the army be a combat medic until the rank of captain then can he try out for special forces? I know I should do infantry but I just want some experience as a medic so that way if anything were to happen to my SF team or a civilian I would know what to do and possibly save one of their lives. Officer or not im still going to fight
Do men who join the army actually get to have families, relationships? I feel like if I join the army I will be a very lonely soul....but if you join the army you must not care about that and be strong. But once you do your time in danger, do most military men just have relations with women they meet a bars on off time or end up with other women who are also in the military?
Do they do this in the army? In the army at your base do they have paintball fields? Can you train at them? Do they pay for it? Otherwise, do they do regular firing practice?
Is the army a Christian organization? Im Atheist, im in ROTC and even in the cadet creed it says "May god grant me the strength to..." So i was just wondering if the Army is a Christian organization? I know officially their not, but do they make you pray and all that ? * they´re
What exactly is the Army Reserve? I'm thinking about joining it, i'm 15. How much do they get paid? How dangerous is it? Can someone please thoroughly explain it to me ples. Is it a career? How hard is it to get in?
Want to join the army but mentally "weak"? oops put this in the US version by accident first, not that it's much different i don't think. Hi first a bit about me, i'm 19 i have not done much really since leaving School, i've never really known what i want to do in life, the only thing that seems to keep coming up is joining the army (Infantry) However i've got a mental block, i'm just not sure if i could handle it, i don't have that much confidence /low self esteem at the moment, due to not really doing anything gets you down after a while and not sure if i have the personality for it, i did actually start a application, i got 57 in the Barb test and went to the doctors to go over Medical form (they said they'd sent it) however i heard nothing since how long do they keep them ? :S Afterwards i had a few doubts "is this really me?" and a medical one my eyes are just under the limit around - (6.50.. Uncorrected. 7/6 corrected) was thinking what if they get worse i'm only 19?but i've always never 100% sure what i've wanted to do, like i said always the army comes up though ... Could the army make me more mentally tough, and a more "independant" person and confident, or i have a no hope? i know the army can't do miracles i have to change myself to. these are my reasons for joining, i want to serve the country i want to do something with my life instead of sitting on my *** and i want to become independant and more grown up. i know the risks and what can happen but overall i think those risks are worth taking, i'd like to travel and experience things and live life. but it's just a huge mental block currently i think physically i'm not that far off (i've been training) People say you need to be 100% sure about everything, well i'm never all that sure... how can you be without trying anything ? sometimes i think i'd be alright in the army i think it could change my life, and myself if i put 100% into it, that's why i'm asking here really, i just need more information because i'm completely lost with myself.. sorry for going on and thanks for reading. Respect to anyone that's Serving i have so much respect for the forces it just seems really "daunting" currently, if anyone reads this that's in the army was you scared at all to join up at first, have any worries? it makes me think though, surely not everyone that has joined is 100% "mentally strong" at first? and all types are in the army. i sound like a little girl here but it's how i feel and i can't get it out of my head.. Edit : some more information my dad also wanted to join when he was younger, and never went through with it, and has been stuck in the same job for 37 years, which makes me think do i want to be like that ?
How to get back into the Army? My name is SGT. Christopher Ibbetson. I was recently discharged from the United States Army for Patterns of Misconduct. What had happened was that I was sent home from my third tour in Iraq for depression. Afterwards, I was sent to 1/8 Rear Detachment, during that time I was put on a medication called larazapam, which makes you sleep for a long period of time. My Chain of Command was aware of this and so was the PA. I was put on light profile but not a late duty status. I asked for the late recall to do the right thing, but it was not given. So, because of the medication I started oversleeping, I was never asked by my superiors of what was going on, i was just being punished. So, I was put on extra duty until 2000 and still had to take my medication, this is medication that you cannot drive with, so I had to wait until I got home. Well, I took the medication too late which I had explained before to my Platoon Sergeant, but he was not listening. I took the medication as soon as I got home and the next morning I was late yet again. After that, I was told by my platoon sergeant that I was being charged with a Field Grade Article 15, in his words, "because I did not deserve the rank I had". The day that I was read my Article 15, I had a Mental health appointment, but I also had to do Brigade Staff Duty. So, on that morning, during PT formation I had asked my 1st Sergeant if I could go to mental health to cancel my appointment so that I could assume duty, I was denied. So I canceled my appointment the nearest time that i could, which was a half hour before to appointment. I was given a no show for the appointment. Later that day, I was read my Article 15, in which I demanded trial by Court Martial. Due to me demanding this, I pissed off my Chain Of Command. After the reading I was called to the commanders office. Captain King told me that I was to be on restriction, due to my no-show appointment. I had explained to him what had happened between 1SG and I, so he called 1SG and 1SG denied the whole thing. The only reason why I was not put on restriction that day was because I lived off-post. That Monday I was put on restriction for a month. I was not allowed to leave the battalion footprint and I had to sign in with Staff Duty every two hours from 0600-2200. So I whould not mess this up I stopped taking my medication and was living at the staff duty desk, because I was not my medication two weeks into my restriction, more weeks were added. So, I decided to play the game and took my medication. Well, when I took my medication I missed my 0600 sign-in and had to sign a paper stating that I had disobeyed a lawful order of a Commissioned Officer. After a month I was released from restriction. In January 2011, I had my General Court Martial, It was dismissed, but the chain of command had other things in store for me. At the time I was notified that I was being chaptered, I was one of Captain King's Platoon Sergeants. Trying to show that I was a worthy NCO. Instead I was being chaptered for disobeying a lawful order. I was discharged from the military on 08APR11. Since then I have been trying to get back into the military, and I was hoping that you could help me make this right.
Why do people say you can't join the Army if you have ADHD & allergies to milk? They are wrong, cause I joined? People have told me all my life that if you have things like: Allergies to milk and ADHD, you can not join the US Army at all. Other things they say will keep you out of the service include: Dyslexia, learning disability for certain things, flat feet, Asthma, previously broken bones, having smoked Marijuana, Alcoholism, criminal record, the list goes on for a mile! However, I know from experience that this is all wrong! First of all, me, I have ADHD, I'm allergic to milk, I have flat feet and I have broken my Thumb when I was in the Army the first time, then I got out for a year and went back in a second time. I knew several other people who had similar issues that I had, ie, milk allergies, ADHD, Dyslexia, etc. I also knew several other people who had prior criminal records, one of them said the judge told him: "You either join the Army right now, or I will send you to prison for 20 years to life!" Tons of people were in the Army and they had smoked weed or used other drugs before they joined, they still got in. I have a friend who is a recruiter in FL, he has a quota to meet each month. He has to sign up a certain amount of people each month. Recruiters and military Doctors don't have time to check your civilian medical records, you are on your honor there. There was even another guy in my unit who went on all our runs and PT sessions with an inhaler in his hand. The only one who can disquallify you for a medical reason anyway is a Military Doctor! Don't let anyone tell you otherwise! My question, again, is: Where do people get the false idea that you can't join the Army if you have some of those problems that I mentioned above? Even some recruiters tell people that. Thay are wrong though and need to do a little more research! Of course, I didn't volunteer any information either. As for my allergies to milk and ADHD, they didn't ask, so I didn't tell. Even if they did ask, I still wouldn't have told them. My recruiter adviser me not to.
Should I join the british Army ????????? I'm 21 been kicked out of home since I was 16 moving from place to place, I have been living with my Dad for a few months now but I have to move out very soon, I have been drinking alot in the past and smoked cannabis... I dont smoke cannabis anymore though, and I have cut my drinking right down. I was a cash in hand roofer for 2 years but there is no work anymore, and I dont enjoy any other jobs I have had, (Kitchen, things like that) Its really hard to get a job at the moment because I dont have alot of experince and I was working illeagally so I cant really put it on my CV. No Civvi jobs makes me feel fulfilled, and I am getting really down not working and having no money.. I just lost my girlfriend 8 months ago aswell. I think the army sounds good because its stable and I will have a home and it will be fun, and I like hard pyhsical work. I really want to find a girlfriend and settle down but I dont know if army life will affect this all. I am thinking about being a logistic boat crewman. Cheer
How are the travel arrangements made when attending yellow ribbon for the army? My husbands unit is currently deployment training and will be having yellow ribbon soon. This will be my first time going.....how does the travel arrangements work? Do I pay for airline/hotel cost or does the army purchase tickets for us to attend. I don't mind paying, but I don't want to wait to long without booking and the ticket/hotel prices creep up. So, if I decide to wait I want to make sure things will actually be handled by the army. Will do. Thanks for any info you have.
Question about giving up custody to join the army.? Hi I'm planning on joining the army. I know that I have to give up my baby's custody to join or be married. My bf is on the birth certificate but I'm planning on leaving him. I plan on giving costudy to my mom while I'm gone. Do I need her dad to give up costudy? Also I m moving overseas soon would JAG be able to help with this? Too late for that Elmo. Let's not talk about what I should've done and get on with the future
how dangerous is it to be a combat engineer in the British Army? I'm joining as a territorial because I have a 1 year old son. I want to know things like the death percentage of combat engineers by year to year, disabled through injury year to year. The reason I'm asking is because I do not want to leave my son without a father, or lose a leg or an arm so I can't play football or anything with him. I want to join because I have a desire in engineering and discipline, I love getting fit and running around, I love adrenaline and enjoy MMA. I have a terrible job at the moment and find myself getting jealous of people who are in the army. Before I join I would just like to know how dangerous things are for a combat engineer, what is recommended for me to join out of Combat Engineer, Plant Operator Mechanic or Armourer (Weapons System Engineer).
how would i become a doctor in the Canadian Milatary? ok so im almost in high school and ive decided i want to be in the army for being a doctor. i want to be one where the patients come to you not like where i have to be on the battle Field. i just wanted to know all about being a doctor in the military and what its like.. and how often do doctors in the molarity die?
Are these statements true or false about the US Army? the US Army is the biggest branch in the US Military the US Army has more aircraft than the US Air Force the US Army has more Infantry than the USMC. the US Army has more sea vessels than the Navy the US Army is the main fighting force of the United States
Why do the Americans and British think they made a significant contribution in WW2? 90% of the German Army and Navy and Air Force was destroyed on the Eastern Front by the Red Army. The Soviets also defeated the elite Kwantung Army in China and forced the Japanese to surrender. The Soviets lost over 25 million people in the war and basically defeated the Axis by themselves. The British did nothing except sit on their tiny island until 1944. The Americans did the same. 1 second ago - 4 days left to answer.

With these attributes would i be able to pass basic training for army and become a soldier for the US? i am 12 years old and every since i was 9 i have wanted to be an infantryman for the US army. Will these attributes help me reach my dream when i turn 18? I can do 40 push ups in a minute,2 miles in 13-13.5 minutes,48 situps a minute. I am i pretty good shot with a rifle. I can hit a 4by4 inch wooden square from 20 yards away with a standard .22 rifle. What are the positive effects of Christianity throughout history? Ok, so many people are so quick to jump on the ills of religion. However, Christianity has probably accomplished more good in the world than the aberrant consequences caused by its MISLED followers. Let me start: - countless humanitarian efforts (recently Hurricane Katrina, tsunami disaster relief, etc) - the abolition of the slave trade in Great Britain in the 19th century was a direct result of Christians lobbying in Parliament - the Salvation Army is a Christian-based organization that is the largest provider of social aid in the world - Christians led reform movements in the US in the 19th century: factory reform, temperance, education, child welfare, workplace conditions, etc. - Millions of Christian missionaries have brought education, reform, medicine and lives of devotion to peoples in all cracks and corners of the world (most of them supported by the financial gifts of churches) I am trying to make my list longer, can you help? Thank you very much.
Is the Marines taking prior service Army right now? I'm an E-3 in the Army Reserves but got the ok to transfer. Can I get in the Marines now or no. I have called multiple recruiters. Some say yes and some say no. Does anyone know the truth? Well, it just do happens that they are taking prior service, but very few. Already got my paperwork submitted today and I should be shipping out in January!
Why do some people join the Army and become stuck up? Not all do, but some. Like i have a friends who was cool, then he joined the army and we all thought he was gonna become more respectable. He just became a asshole. He walks around like his sh!t don't stink. Even his family sees it. Why is that?
Does Surgery DQ me from joining the Army? I have Pectus Excavatum and I am having surgery next year. Will have surgery DQ me from joining the Army? Additional Notes: I am 16 now and will be 17 when i have the surgery I wont be joining the Army until I am 19 So if i have pectus excavatum and i am physically fit then i can join. But if i have pectus Excavatum and am NOT physically fit then its a no. I wont be going to the army until two years after the surgery though. So i should be alright.
Will my hearing problem get me removed from the Army? I was recently processed into the Army as prior service. After being in for 6 months, they have tested my hearing and have placed it at a p3, which disqualifies me for my MOS. Will this get me removed, or just a different MOS? What exactly is a MEB/MAR2
Is being in the army really worth it? Just had that on my mind lately. BTW im a combat engineer i want to help people but i dont want to mess my life up or somebody overseas life up either. I really dont care what happens to me but i would hate to put my family in misery.

Question about the US Army? So, when I turn 18 I want to join the Army and become a medic on the field. I was just wondering what they do out there, if anyone could tell me and what its like. so. Yeah. Can anyone help me out here?
Aortic Stenosis and the Army? I was born with a bicuspid aortic valve that was accompanied by aortic stenosis. Throughout my life I have had absolutely no troubles with this condition, I am 17 now and looking to join the Army when I am 18 and get out of high school. My heart doctor allowed me to play every sport I want, including football. I was just wondering, what are the chances of me getting into the Army? The chances of getting a waiver? I am planning on getting one from my heart doctor to try and sweeten the deal. If I do get into the Army I would love to be in the Infantry, has always been a dream of mine to fight for my country. Thanks for any replies, no matter how grim the news may be.
I'm a haz-mat technician interested in Army OCS and joining the chem corp. What are my chances of getting in? I'am a junior in college majoring in fire science (bachelors degree) with a hazardous materials focus (associates degree in chem). I currently have a 3.7 GPA and the following certs: Hazardous Material Awareness & Operations, OSHA 29 CFR 1910.120 (HAZWOPER) Haz-Mat Technician. I hope to apply to Army OCS and get into the chemical corp. I know that the needs of the Army override individual preferences however, I'm not sold on any of the other branches that I could potentially be placed in. I'm looking for input as to my chances of getting into Chemical Corp and any potential ways to maximize my odds. Any answers would be much appreciated, thank you.
What is the best way to move my house goods on an Terminal ETS? I am considering on moving my self back home from Georgia to Texas. It is going to run a lot to rent a truck to move a family of four. What would be the best way to make this move. Should I let the Army move me and if not what other options are there for me other than a Uhaul. Thanks
is being an officer in the British army a good job? ive been scouting for all my life and i find it fun to do all the adventure scouty sort of stuff. im also getting As in my GCSEs and i fiured insted of sitting in an office for the rest of my life, i could become an officer (not a regular soldier) in the british army. is it worth it? ive been scouting for all my life and i find it fun to do all the adventure scouty sort of stuff. i have a very good fitness and im also getting As in my GCSEs and i figured insted of sitting in an office for the rest of my life, i could become an officer (not a regular soldier) in the british army. is it worth it?
I Self mutilated 8 years ago. Can I join the army? OK, here's the deal: I'm 29 now and when I was 21, I cut my right bicep with a razor blade. I did it ONE time, and only one time. But what I did is kinda bad... There's 3 horizontal lines that are about 3 inches long each and a quarter of an inch apart from each other (I measured just now). Right below that is the word "DIE". Yeah. I know. The total square of damage is 4 inches from top to bottom and 3 inches from left to right. The word is really faded but the lines have a very slight bump to them. The reason has NOTHING to do with depression. I have never taken any medication EVER. Seriously, I have never had a prescription for anything. I had a bladder-type operation when I was 6 and a bone scan that revealed nothing when I was 20 because my back kind of hurt back then. I did it because I was very angry at my manager at work. I knew I'd get in trouble if I hurt them, so I hurt myself. I KNOW!! But I worked with them for another year without problems and I have since gotten a Bachelor's degree. Also, it doesn't show AT ALL below my sleeve on any t-shirt I know. Even smaller ones that have shorter sleeves. I can't see it at all. Am I automatically PDQ or can I have dermabrasion done? Should I get really tan first to try to camo the scars? Will it depend on the psych review? Should I try to wear some pads that help with scars? Will the fact that it was EIGHT YEARS AGO make it not as bad as if it were recent? I've grown a lot since then as a person and a man and that's now who I am and I've never hurt myself before or since and I have never seen a psychologist and my relationship with co-workers (I have a different job now though, the plant I was working in at that time shut down and I and everyone else was laid off) and my family is better than it ever has been. Please answer honestly and respectfully. :) Thank you for your time. Would dermabrasion to remove the sight of the scars work? If I had that done, would that show up on medical history and they'd go "Why'd you have that done?" and then what could I say to that?
1st week of army basic training? im 15 right now and plan on joining the army after high school. i have 2 1/2 years till i can sign up for the army and im just wondering whats the first week of basic training like? like what are they first things you will do it a week?
When I get married will my husband legally be my sons father? I have a 2 year old from a previous relationship. His father isn't even on the birth certificate. My fiancé and I are getting married next week and then he's shipping out because he is in the army. When we get married will my husband legally become my sons father or will he have to adopt him? And if he isn't legally his father will my son still be entitled to the benefits from the army?
US Army Rangers vs Us Navy SEALs? I mean about a comparison of one Army Ranger to one Navy SEAL. The Army Ranger in this case is a full member of the 75th Regiment and has completed all his training including Ranger School. The Navy SEAL has completed all his training too. So who is or who do you think is better at: 1.hand to hand combat 2.air operations and warfare 3.sea operations and warfare 4.land operations and warfare 5.resistance to torture 6.more versatile 7.more uses 8.capacity to fill in other roles 9.sees the most combat 10.learns more skills such as lock picking and hot wiring cars 11.have more to do (meaning that each member is expected to know all skills and not have separate people for each task) 12.psychological warfare 13.tougher to get into 14.tougher to stay into 15.who do you like better and why 16.best overall please answer all these questions in number order and then at the end say who is the best overall. thanks.
what will the british army do after the war in afghanistan? I will turn 18 at the end of 2014, which is when the war in Afghanistan is due to end. I'm dreaming about being in the army and being a combat medical technician, but what will I do if there is no war? I'm not saying that I want a war or anything, but I'm just scared that I'll never be able to do my job properly. What does the army do that is overseas after afghanistan?
What do 2nd Lieutenants in the USMC/ARMY Infantry do? I heard they don't really lead there troops and only leave the base sometimes and mostly just follow their Sergeant First Class is this true? and also can a 2Lt/Lt choose to leave the base with his troops to on patrols etc. Anytime he wishes to?
I am so glad the Salvation Army is shutting down where I live?!? Where I live they are shutting down 4 Salvation Army centers due to lack of funding which I think is great since the Salvation Army has become nothing more than a homophobic, hate filled bigotted organization who practices the normal Bible buffet "Christian" teachings. While they've done a lot of good things, there's nothing worse than "Christians" who think they have the right offend everyone else. Your opinions?
In the Army, do you have to share a dorm room? I know in the Air Force you have your own dorm that has a small kitchen and bathroom.. In the Army is it true that you have to share a dorm with someone else? Also I'm really thinking of which branch would be better for me to join. I like the AF better, the way of life and the careers they offer match my interests better than what the Army has to offer. However, I am about 10-12 pounds overweight and the AF will not take me in until I meet their requirements, but if I wanted to I could sign with the Army right now. Would it be better to wait to get into the branch I prefer, or not have to sit around and wait for a few months to get in better shape and join what I want to, on top of having to wait 6-12 months to get sent to basic. Thanks
Joining the army as an Asian female? I'm interested in joining the Army Reserve however before I start .. I already worry about how well I would fit in "with the boys" being a girl and all. I know most of the girls enlisted haven't had too many troubles in this aspect..which is where the other part comes in. I'm also Asian and as much ad Id like to say this hasn't been an issue in interacting with anglosaxon males (comprises majority of defence force) .. id be lying. Everywhere I go I seem to be slightly discriminated against for being Asian. At uni, guys often talk to the fellow white girl next to them instead of me upon first meeting despite ly efforts to attempt s conversation. At work, no white/anglosaxon try talked to me as I first started but when a white girl arrived a few weeks later they happily struck up a conversation. I'm born here, no problems with English etc. And I encounter this problem everywhere I go. I have no white guy friends..they are all either Asian, Indian and one from Turkey. Why does this happen? And if it happens now on the outside of.course it will happen in the army too. May thanks
How do I get out of the Army early? I am trying to get out of the Army because I just inherited a large sum of money. Basically, I don't need this JOB anymore. I've realized that the Army complains about how new Soldiers act when in fact the old Army is the ones who recruited the new Army. I am finally happy after serving 8 yrs and doing 4 tours to Iraq. I feel as though I served my country well. I have a friend who just got out for APFT failure and she is waiving her Honorable Certificate and paperwork as we speak. I need real answers that won't result in a Dishonorable. I believe at the time I serve I should still have some dignity no matter how many zeros I have in the bank now. I gladly and willing want to get out of and leave the Army to the real Soldiers. I don't want to hold you back and I've decided to weed out myself. Anyone would good information because the clock is ticking.
Will i still have a place in the united states army? I am a future soldier in the united states army enlisted. I have completed meps, and reserved a job with a ship off date in Feb 2012. I was wondering with the war in Iraq beinng over and all troops being sent home will I still have a mos open after boot camp? I know I'm not officially in the army till I sign my 2nd contract at my basic training location so can that also mean the army can terminate, my future contract? Just nervous and would like to know if my future career will be safe?
ho to stay in germany after etsing from the army? im about to ETS from the army and im planning on staying here. acording to my 1sg, ill have to return to the states in order to stay. is this true? the bundesrepublik polezei say i do too, but i know people who have stayed and never got on the plane to the states and waited until they had logistical support through a on base job. while they were here w/o the job, they were illegals. what do i do? do i get on the plane, go home, then pay a rediculous price to go home, or do i stay and wait till my job kicks in?
Will I go to hell? Joining the army? I'm a guy, catholic, almost 14, I live in Canada and my dream is to be an infantry soldier in the Canadian forces. However I'm afraid that I might go to hell for murder. Is it a sin to kill terrorists? Christians' and soldiers' opinions only please.
depression and the army, need help urgently? i have applied for the armed forces but was laid off work with depression, i was prescribed anti-depressants but have not taken them and still have the prescription as proof. after realizing i was not actually depressed i wrote a letter to the doctors to say that i was just merely upset with things. now im wondering whether i have screwed up my chances of joining or that they will just defer me for another long annoying waiting period!!! please help someone
Why did the American and British Jewry stop Hitler from destroying Bolshevism? Why did they bankroll the Bolshevik war? Why did they launch a huge bombing campaign against Germany? Why did they destroy 70-80% of the German Air Force? Why did they destroy over 90% of the German Navy? Why did they launch huge invasions in North Africa, Italy, France and Germany? Why did they crack the Enigma code and give vital information the Bolsheviks? Why did they destroy the Army, Navy, Air Force, Infrastructure and Industry of Japan? Bolshevism would not exist today if not for the efforts of the American and British Jewry.
I'm a maxwell, can i join the british army? i'm an englishman, but my idiot ancestors who were in one of the best clans decided to up and move, when we were elite LORDS, that's actually pretty cool (just found out my history) my ancestors were cruel *** but they were warlords, why not bring some honor to the clan>?
Im joining the army, but i have tattoo's.. Will these tattoo's be acceptable? I have one tattoo on my wrist that says "DIANE MCMXLV" which is my nans name and 1945 (the year she was born) in roman numerals.. And on the bottom of my back i have.. "Why am i fighting to live, if im just living to fight, why am i trying to see if there aint nothing in sight, why am i trying to give when no one gives me a try, why am i dying to live if im just living to die"- Tupac Shakur Will these be ok?
What does a Nutrition Care Specialist do in the Army? I got a Temporary Reservation paper stating this: Job: 68M1 O 00 YY Title: Nutrition Care Specialist Option: 3 I am reading online that it says that I'm going to be cooking but that is not what I like. My recruiter is saying something completely different, that ima be working at a hospital with a doctor just making sure that people are eating the way they should but that im not going to be required to cook. So, I dont know who to believe and tomorrow ima be doing my physical and suppose to sign but I want to know what im going to be actually signing.
Why does this DQ some people in the military and not others? ? i have a severe peanut allergy but i have been accepted to the USMC and i am leaving for boot camp next month. on the other hand, one of my brothers friends tried joining about 2 weeks ago and is DQ because of a very SMALL amount of peanut allergies. how does this happen? also what is his best bet to get in? could he join the army or marines at all? thanks! -semper fi
Who has the best trained army? Hi, this question was not asked to start hate or an argument. I want to know who really has the best military, I don't want the average patriot who's knowledge is based on Call of Duty, I would like stats and facts please although doesn't really matter :) thanks
I want to do TACP in the airforce but already signed with army what should i do? the only problem i dont really have the financial ability to stay extra months to wait for airforce and i heard my army recruiter might take a long time to discharge me cause he would be pissed. But i really wanna do tacp and dont know what to do any advice would be appreciated thanks. Well I heard they are tryin to get more tacps this year and there arent any signed up right now so it may not take long to get in. and i heard that if you back out of a branch the recruiters get pissed and cuss and threatin you and stuff.
Army MEPS physical questions.. need lots of advice!? Hey so on Thursday I went to MEPS station for the army natl guard to take my ASVAB and got a AQFT of 83 and 110+ in all the Lines. Went to the hotel and then the physical the next morning. I passed medical except I had a hydrocele that the doctor wanted me to go to a consult with an army specialist about (it's no big deal it's NEVER been a problem doesn't affect me at all) so they said they would set up a consult soon and everything. I was pissed because I wanted to enlist and finish it up. Does anyone know about how long to expect till I get a consult? And if it's a big deal (ie a possible waiver?) or just have them sign off and say im okay for basic. Im going SMP into the Ohio Army National Guard for ROTC if that makes any difference and will be shipping this summer most likely. My recruiter said as soon as i get my consult well go get sworn in that day etc. Any information? Realistic info please?
If your child wanted to join the military would you be happy about it? I feel that the British army is a disgraceful profession.. killers hired by our immoral capitalist phony democratic governments... I am stunned at how usa and britain can take the moral high ground and appoint themselves as the police men of the world... greedy lying corrupt criminals. I got Nine thumbs down on another page for speaking the truth. Many people stated that being in the army is very safe (some even stating our local high street is more dangerous). If being in the army is so safe (as many on the other page stated), and if it is more dangerous walking down our local high street.. then why do Pm's always say that soldiers are hero's etc? surely the man who walks down the street is a bigger hero because he places his life in more danger. The comments also got me thinking wow!!! if it is so safe (when we are supposed to be at war with certain countries) shouldn't our soldiers be regarded as bullies? why are they so 'safe' during a 'war'? Sorry if my comments offend .. it all just seems a little confusing... maybe someone can enlighten me. Just a footnote: some deluded person posted that we live in a 'free and democratic society' hahahahahahah so funny.... By free and democratic do you mean politicians who promise things and then don't deliver? e.g. university fees etc... or do you mean our overly brutal and racist police force? or bankers who pay themselves 8 million pound bonus's? or the privatisation of the NHS? ... HAHAH... and onc more thing to ponder if you would 'who sold these 'weapons etc' (that don't often exist) to these so called 'dangerous countries' thousands of miles away? I wish people would stop bring up WW2 as a way to legitimise the activities of modern armies.... Firstly WW2 was actually a WAR (i do not recall seeing any bombers etc in our country - aside from some extremist nutters on a bus a few years back).... military activity in recent years can not be described as WAR.. It was the west flexing its muscles in an attempt to control the resources of weak countries (if you do not think they are weak .. then why were they beaten so easily?)... People will say that we are stamping these people out before they become like hitler haha .... ok then why didn't our heroic countries step in and invade China (as they illegally occupied tibet)... err I think because China would be able to actually put up a fight... same reason america didn't step up to the line against russia ... (Russia is to powerful.. weren't the russians communist huh?).. instead the brave americans went to nam expecting to blast them away.. but they got their asses handed to them... Al I always thought people in the army got paid.... I didnt know they were all volunteers ... I am shocked to here this. I will put my words in capitals so people can see them clearly and hopefully understand them. I AM NOT AGAINST HAVING AN ARMY ... I AM AGAINST WHAT GOVERNMENTS CHOOSE TO DO WITH THE ARMY!!!!! I FEEL PEOPLE ARE SO BLIND THAT THEY WOULD AGREE WITH ANYTHING THE ARMY DOES.. VERY DANGEROUS THAT PEOPLE CONNECT FREEDOM WITH INVASION AND OCCUPATION OF DEFENCELESS COUNTRIES... LIKE I SAY BULLIES (MAYBE NOT BY CHOICE BUT IN THEIR ACTIONS THEY ARE BULLIES)
Army: What would be a very quick and possible way to earn rank and get promoted faster? I was planning on earning college credits while in the Army, but I heard there can problems with time management is you're active duty. Which I am, and I'm an E-1 wanting to earn promotion points. I have the Mongomery GI Bill and a bonus when I came in. How would I go about getting college credits and attending courses? What else is a good way to earn rank in the Army?
What's the difference between Army and the Army Reserved? I want to get military training and was wondering if the Army Reserved would be able to provide me wit the same training as the US Army would. What type of training do the army reserve provides and are they any difference to the training US army provides?
How does college and the army work out? I just signed up for the army and got sworn in. And im going to the army as active duty. My job is 42A Human Resource Specialist (desk job). So im planning to do two years of a junior (community college) in the army. So i can transfer the credits to a major state university. I planning to do the major university courses online. So could I do that? And since my job is a desk job would it be easier to do college than being infantry ? And could i take courses at the army base that the credits could transfer to a major university?
Has Army basic training and overall quality gotten weak over the years? If seems they let just about anyone in these days with a more laxed basic training and government promises (money just for signing up, clearing student debts, etc). An old Army vet once told me that there was a time when Army training was as rigorous as Marines. Nowadays drills instructors aren't allowed to be too mean anymore, wow, really? What's going on here? Is it just this latest generation of young people who have more or less have had everything handed to them their whole lives? Will it get tough again?
What is the best job to get in the army? I been looking around a realize that the army has many interesting jobs they have to offer. So my question would be by your personal recommendation what is the most interesting and unique job to have in the army? Also my second question is what are the requirement for that specific job and the benefits for the civilian side?
so if you join the army....? and there isnt a war or anything going on? what happens? you get a job til there is a war? i plan on working out getting my ged and 15 credits but will i need another job? or do i still work with the army? the bottom two people dont understand my question im saying... Do we stay on "BASE" and do other thing when we arent on duty (fighting or training) ? or do they send you back to your everyday life and you get an everyday job like wal mart til they need you
I'd like to join the Army? I'm a 17 years old male who wants to join the military but the thing is that i don't ''like'' the army in my country so the only choice i have is to either join the French Foreign Legion since i can't join military forces in other countries i think. So i've made my mind up and i will try and go for the Legion but before i do so i want my questions regarding the FFL. I've been told that they recruit rapists, murderes, crackheads and wife beaters into their ranks. Now this seems very likely but still. They'll send us out on ''suicide missions'' because they don't give a sh*t about us? It's extremely hard to be accepted by them(they pick 1 out of 25?). I'm currently in 11th grade and not sure if i need to have degree in something before i can join them and if so, what? Joining the Legion isn't exactly what i want to do so if you know any other armies who would recruit someone not from a specific country. And the main reason for me joining the military is that most of my family has/is been doing thing involving the military. Thank you very much for reading Céran I apologize for my horrible grammar and text structure(I was in a rush). Don't even bother telling me not to join or that im not qualified for it because i really think it's what i want do to. And and i'm aware that it's not a ''social club'' or anything like that.
What is the best possible way to get motivated to train for Army 1.5 mile run? Hi. I am currently going through the application process for the British Army (Infantry). Currently I am at the stage of waiting for my Medical Centre to fill some forms out so I can get them back to the Army Careers Office. I believe after an interview the next step will be Selection at Glen-Course. At the moment I feel pretty confident with my upper body strength, team working skills an confidence. The only thing I know I qm going to fail is the 1.5 mile run in 12 minutes or something. I really want to train to be able to do this, but I cannot seem to get motivated at all. Does anyone know of any tips to help me be able to motivate myself to train for the run? Thank you for your answers in advance.
Can you be chaptered out of the army for no specific reason? My husband is in the army, and he got transfered to a Medboard unit because he was suppose to be getting medboarded.... Well we just found out that his medboard got denied. Well on Fri his NCO told him they had all his paperwork ready for him to transfer to this new unit. He goes to work and he asks if he's getting transferred and they said they don't know. Well that was monday, now it's wednesday and when he got to work he asked whats going on if he's getting transferred or not, and they said that they don't know...they said they are either going to keep him in the medboard unit or they are going to chapter him out. My husband hasn't done anything WRONG in his four years of being in the army to BE chaptered out, so I'm wondernig if they can even do that. He said if they still don't know what to do with him tomorrow when he goes in that he's going to batallion and talking to them. He's been in this unit for 4 months now, and this is the second time they have told him he's transferring to a new unit and they STILL haven't done it. ANd now they are saying they are either keeping him there or chaptering him out? Because to my understanding you get chaptered out if you did something wrong, not if they don't know what to do with you.
Should I do a DITY move or and I better off letting the Army move me? A little more insight on my situation....I am a E1, and got stationed at Ft.Lewis, Wa from TX. First off I came up here first and left my husband and daughter behind. And I have only about 20 days or so left in the barracks. Hell, I havent even found a place to live yet, but will this weekend. Anyway, I was thinking about getting a advance for a Dity move. But concerns are coming to me as I dont know how long it will take for the advance to come, leaving me not to know when to take my leave to go get them. SO then i was thinking about taking out a loan and doing it myself and THEN getting reimbursed. But then I reaized I have to worry about another bill...and still not know how long it can take for the reimbursement. And thenI was gonna say screw it let the Army move me but how long is it gonna take to get them on it and then how long to get my stuff to my new place? Any suggestions, reccomendations, comments? I really need help. Its not easy being here without my family and no vehicle plus the added on stress that my batter is moving to north fort and I'll be stuick here on main post asking for rides. Also If I do decide on the dity all of what procedures do I need to follow? Thanks in advance I really need help, I'm on a tight timeline-well in my head I am. I have two pov's planned on getting a trailer for one, apparently, and a 2 bedroom duplex and my hubby has a shitload of tools...
What military branch is the most dangerous statistically? I am not asking for death toll because obviously that would be the army since it is such a large force. But I mean statistically based on deaths/size of branch. which branch (out of army, marines, Coast Guard, Navy, and Airforce) has the highest percent of fatalities? can anyone provide the actual stats?
Parents don't want me to join the Army? They say it is the worst decision I will make. They say Im too "smart" with too much "Potential" I really want to though. How do I convince them? Im not 18 yet but they get mad at me over it.
What should I do about my family not wanting me to join the military? I've been working hard to get ready to join the Army or Marine corps for the past year and I'm almost ready, but my whole family is against it except for my uncle who's already in the Army. Any suggestions on anything I could do to make them feel better about it? I plan on going either way because its my life and if I want to do something then I'll do it, But I don't want everybody to be pissed at me. Any help would be appreciated..
Someone whose been in the Marines/Army and has fought in Iraq! I need help!? I'm writing an editorial in my school newspaper and it's going to be about how the Marines are on campus constantly trying to recruit. They bring their giant trucks with huge Marine logos and have competitions to see who can do more pull ups. I honestly have a real problem with that (I respect that you guys put your life on the line to give me rights that allow me to write this) and I would love to have a little about someone whose actually experienced war (not someone whose getting paid to talk to us) in my essay. It could be that you love or just completely hated it! Any help would be appreciated! I'm aware that if the school doesn't allow the military on campus they will lose federal funding. I've been trying to look up and inform myself. And yeah, I'm writing about how they come to my school because we live in a low income area and we don't have a lot of options. I know this.
habits females in the army? Hi, I'm trying to do some research for a fundraiser and could use some insights. I'm trying to figure out the habits of females in the army, all different ranks. Basically, I am working on a beauty pageant with females enlisted in the army as contestants. Do you think most women in the army would be open to something like this? Or, should I target more army wives, daughters...? Is makeup, when you can apply it, important to females in the service considering it's one of the few ways to express your femininity?
Does the U.S. Army or Marines still accept "Audie Murphy" type of guys? I am 19 years old. I am korean-american male. I am short. I am 5'6 tall and about 120 lbs. Maybe slightly a little more. I'm not a great athlete, I'm just an average joe when it comes to physical prowess and athleticism, NOTHING exceptional or noteworthy. In fact, I have a bit of an issue with running (usually endurance/stamina). I don't have any serious diseases, handicaps, or asthma. I think I'm pretty normal other than that.
What is the fake 300 movie called? its on right now but i dont know the name, ill tell 2 scenes to see if you know it- 1. when they fight the persian army they dance insted of fight 2. in the pit of death scene american idol comes and judges his kick
Should I Still Join the Army? My Mother and I are Extremely Close, I Was Raised By Just Her, So We are Not Even Like a Mother Son Relationship its Almost More Like Friends, She Really Doesn't Want Me to Leave and is Especially Kinda P!ssed Off about My Trying to Join The U.S. Army It Opens So Many Doors for Me in Life But it Almost Seems Like She Wants Me to Just Learn a Trade and Stay Around My Hometown (Which I Dont Want) I Want to (Join The Army), I Really Want to, To Say I Have Done Something Great in My Life and Be Proud of Myself, But Should I Really Fulfill it Because of The Way My Mom Feels, Her Emotions Matter to Me a Lot Because Like I Said Shes Almost Like My Friend More Than a Parent , I Already Took The ASVAB and if My Scores and Everything Falls in Line I am Able to Go to MEPS and Swear in, Theres another Question if you Go To MEPS are You Absolutely obligated at that time to Pick Whatever Job and Join or if you Dont Like The Ones That are Offered Can You Just Leave ? Sorry for The Capitals and Poor Puncuation Yea Bo Jangles Dont Need that One Thing You Mentioned Going On (Sickening)
Joining the Army Reserves? For those with experience, what is it like being in the reserves? How do you join, how committed do you have to be, and what benefits do you receive? Overall, what kind of experience was/is it?
does the government have spies? not like the movie ...but kinda like it...where you do solo missions and get info on people...or does anything like the army have it? if they do... what are the requirements?
Army JAG Attorney question? For most of my life i wanted to either become a police officer or join the army as an MP but than i found out i was colorblind so that kind of took away both of those options. But since i have always been interested in law, i'm planning on finishing my degree for criminal justice and than going to law school, than go into the Army JAG Corps to combine my interest in military and law. I was wondering if this is a reasonable idea, how hard is it to become a JAG Attorney. Also, i would prefer Army, but i would be willing to do any branch.
A.A.S. degree in the millitary? I am going to school for two years then plan to enlist in the army does anyone know if there is any advantages to doing this I am going for criminal justice

Inconsistencies with the Indian governments report of operation bluestar. Why? I have come upon a list of inconsistencies which doesn't stregthen India's position on this incident. 1.) General Brar uptill 2010 kept on saying there were no civilian casulties or bullet fired on Harmandir Sahib, he has now changed tack saying there were civilian casulties with Indian army bullets lodged in them. 2.) The assistant magistrate of Punjab who was a Hindu, reported more then 200 bullets lodged in the Golden temple. India denies despite more than 1 eyewitness conforming the assistant magistrates account. 3.)Civilians were being killed in the Golden Temple in the aftermath of the operation by soldiers. What was the need when the army was "supposed to be defending them". 4.)The Army published a magazine labelled "bach cheet" accusing the entire Sikh race of being seditious. Why? 5.)For one man Jarnail Singh Bhindranwale and 200 armed men a force of more than 7,000 soldiers was used with tanks and heavy duty weapons, forbidden by human rights activists and UN in a civil military action. 6.)If this was a matter of eradicating unwanted elements how is the use of R and AW wing justified. Their agents themselves admit they were disguised as Sikhs targeting Hindus. 7.)How are the actions of Alam Sena in punjab and other fundamentalist Hindu outfits explained especially in Harayana where mass Sikh graves are being found even now. 8.)Why was A.K. Sinha fired when he suggested using starvation to force the militants out. 9.)Brar says there were Sikhs in the army involved in Operation Bluestar, however eyewitnesses say that after having pictures taken in the aftermath these man took off their turbans, started shaving and themselves revealed they were actually Hindus not Sikhs. 10.)Why hasn't justice been given to the survivors, the eyewitnesses, whose relatives were brutally massacred in the aftermath. 11.)Is it justifiable to attack such a holy and crowded place? 12.)Why the media blackout? Wouldn't this have warned so called "helpers" such as Pakistan and China that something was about to happen and they should attack India. 13.)Curfew was put on the golden temple six days before the attack, according to survivors. How then was Jarnail Singh able to send out so-called "kill hindu orders." 14.)Jarnail Singh himself has been known to help Hindus without any compensation expected in return. 15.)Brar says few innocents were released at 12-3pm before zero hour. However survivors say that he started a round of firing which the militants didn't reply to, knowing he was trying to gauge their position. 16.)Why was Ranjit Dayal, assistant General and other Hindus disguised as Sikhs? 17.)How was the ISI and China able to support the militants, especially since Indira Gandhi herself reassured India all the time that Immigration and border security was tight. 18.)What proof is there that Jarnail Singh was a government creation? 19.)How is the Delhi riots justifiable and heres the main question why hasn't justice been delievered yet? 20.)Jarnail Singh was the head of a well known institute, all heads efore him were legendary. A majority of other religions in India follow their teachings, never before had this institute Dam Dami Taksal taken an interest in politics why then? 21.)Sant Kartar Singh refused to get up when Indira Gandhi got up on stage to say Sikhs were made to protect Hindus. why? 22.)Sikhs are not a part of Hinduisim why then are they considered hindus by the government, more so in the after math of operation bluestar. 98% say they are not. It's their religion they should know 23.)How does Indian intelligence explain the air Indian bombing, especially when the accused who agreed received 1.3 million dollars at that time from "government sector account." 24.)Why are there anti-sikh campaigns being taken out y the RSS and other groups? 25.)There is no proof that RSS ever helped Sikhs in the Delhi riots. 26.)Why was the Gurkha regiment only allowed in Delhi during the last day of the riots, why not before? They reached there on day one just a few hours into the riots. 27.)Why were Hindus who protected the Sikhs killed? 28.)And why did the police join in with the rioters? Theres even video proof. The Indian Government says that numerous points such as these are lies created by fundamentalists and extremists why then do eyewitnesses disagree with the government? Is the Indian Government saying all the people it was "supposed to be defending" are liars. Sant Jarnail Singh Bhindranwale, if u look up his speeches on youtube you will come across those were he helped hindus, called them brothers and sisters, fathers and mothers. There are journalists with proof of thse yet newspapers have never published that. Why? And although Sikhs helped Hindus and so on, they also helped christians and muslims. They don't say Sikhs are a part of their religion. Why then do only Hindus say so? Please our comments and crticism are invited and your thoughts on what the Indian government did and why. Please have your answer in accordance with the above points. And please do not turn this in your personal battle ground. And theres a person called "oops" who always buts in in such questions and always uses the same arguments and answers which explain nothing and are a waste of the askers time. So oops don't bother answering it will be a waste of everyones time and yours, especially when you can use it to learn something.
Army fiance keeps acting like a dick? I just got off the phone with him, and for the most part the conversation went good. Im upset about a couple of things though: He hinted that he loved the army more than he loved me When i got sad about this and asked him why, he got mad and denied that he did, and when I told him I didn't believe him, he called me a "s-hitbag" and hung up. He said that If I cheated on him he wouldn't care, he's been through enough stuff in the army already, and he's only finishing bootcamp. He mentioned if I had any worries or something that I would like to talk about, including cheating and when I asked if he would cheat on me, he didn't give me serious answers, just that "Oh, I hate people, I wouldn't cheat." Then later on when the subject of cheating came up again and I asked "should I be worried?", he said "Yeah, Im one sexy motherfu**er", then took it back and was like "Yeah I shouldn't have said that it was a bad answer".......then said he won't cheat on me. He is very arrogant, he's sarcastic all the time, like for example I said "Wouldn't you just love to talk to me for hours?" followed with a flirty laugh, and he said "Oh, yeah like i don't have nothing else better to do like training or learning something." That really hurt me, i think he really did lose some interest in me. Any opinions? Advice?
I'm so sick of Army Wives? I'm wondering if any other Army wives out there have experienced this? I'm 23 years old and have been married to my husband for a little over 5 years. He is in the army (and no, I did not marry him because he was in the Army we have known each other since we were 15) Well, from the very beginning I got attitude from many wives because I am in shape and pretty. I learned that from talking to my husband because other wives in the company would tell their husband that "no" we were not invited to their parties because i'm a man stealer. I guess being pretty means I'm going after their husbands, lol go figure. I'm a very friendly person and I get along great with my husbands work buddies (with my husband by my side, never alone with any). Now just recently many of the wives have been spreading rumors about me saying that I'm a stripper, which absolutely not true! I don't understand why these wives are being so immature and mean. Some of their husbands who stop by our house after work say its because their wives are very self conscious about their weight and looks that they get mad when they see me, but that is just so juvenile! I love my husband and would never try to take their husbands from them lol So yeah, I take care of myself and look pretty so what, why all the hate from the wives and not the husbands? Thank You to all who helped. I think I will be talking to my husband about moving off the base. That seems like the best solution. I'm just going to continue with getting my degree and ignore these immature women. :)
My boyfriend is going to join the army, I need coping advice? My boyfriend who I love is going to join the army, and there's no changing his decision. I want to be supportive and be able to deal with it, I just don't know what to expect. He wants me to stay with him and after basic training move in with him on base with my daughter. I would just like to know how our relationship will change, any woman have any experience with this and how did it work out ?
Will a criminal record effect my chances with joining the Army? I'm 17, and have been wanting to join the army full time as a career.. Recently I got arrested with a felony charge of transporting marijuana. Yes, I know it was stupid, please don't reply with things reminding me of that... I'm paying the price for it. Will that ruin my chances at joining? I'm clean now and want to make things right. I want to go fully active on Infantry, or maybe on reserve.
is being in a private military Company like being in the army? I have always wanted to join the military. And i just learned about private military companies. What are they what do they do is it any thing like being in one of the normal branches of the military. Is there basic training.Any Information about it would be appreciated .
How hard is it to get stationed in California hawaii or alsaka with the army? My boyfriend is joining the army and we're trying to decide what bases we want to try for.. he wants Cali or Hawaii I want Alaska. It just seems to me that Hawaii would be a place a lot of people would request.. his mos is 68w (combat medic) also what are all the bases overseas? We have to pick 3 in the country and 3 overseas. But all the websites tell me different things. I can't seem to find a clear answer.

Does the U.S. Army accept vista high school diploma's? I go to a alternative Learning school in montrose Colorado called vista charter school and I just wanted to know if the army accepts their diploma it's considered tier 2 but it's not a GED it's an actual HS diploma oh yes and it is a Accredited High School Diploma
Why won't most people in the Army be able to function in normal society such as being a grocery bagger, etc? Ina conversation I had witha friend under the username of Valtiel in another forum, we had this conversation. This is what he said: "Most people who joined the military - specifically the army - would normally not be able to hold a job as a Sobey's grocery bagger and/or function in normal society. If this offends you and you wish to challenge me, you are wrong and I will not care. I've lived within army communities my entire life and recently got out of the army after six years. Yes it is the Canadian army however it applies the same to the US and UK and most likely any army out there. CAVEAT: I have many army friends who are well ahead of this bell curve and are consummate professionals. They are also the exceptions. Now, I said this for a reason. Most of these guys behind the curve (and in the army that curve is very skewed to the right) are your typical fake macho men type (the kind that wears TapOut shirts and wears their dogtags to nightclubs thinking they're cool and basically act like punks with jarhead haircuts) or they are the jock douchebag types who realized no corporation in the world gives one half of a f--k about their sports team playing abilities so they joined the army (note - team sports in the army = important just like in high school). These are the guys that were typically involved in some sport in high school, failed jolly good near every course but it was overlooked because of their football skills, dated all the bimbos and generally could not reach the number ten even if counting their fingers. Having spent most of my time in combat arms units, I was surrounded by them jolly good near every day. When they weren't training, they were "working the guns" at the gym. When not at the gym they were getting loaded drunk (who cares if its a Tuesday night?) and going out womanizing. Most of them did not know what a book was except that it was a small box with many words inside. If they did stay home, it was to ...... drink even more and watch football...YARR FOOTBALL HURR HURR DERP So with this in mind, combined with an over the top testosterone filled attitude at work and at home, combined with an aversion in the military towards everything remotely non-manly (you like classical music? whatever FAG, hur hur deerrrrp) COMBINED EVEN FURTHER with people with room temperature IQ ..... And you have why many guys in the army do not like so called "Casual" or nerdy stuff" such as Anime/Manga and Romance Books like Gone With the Wind , especially a subject of interests involving corny redemption and what not. Things like Classical Studies and Superman are not manly at all and in the army stating you like something like that is akin to painting a giant target on your forehead. OP, if you want to be taken remotely seriously on a military forum, forgo ALL of that intellectual/casual stuff because they will interpret you as a silly little fanboy kid or a pussy dweeb." What do you think? Is Valtiel correct or not?
Joining the Army for the experience? I really want to experience the army. I want to be a firefigther as a career but i want to first go into the army so i can experience the challenges and experience what its like to be in the army. I was thinking about either doing Firefighting in the army or doing infantry solider in the Canadian Forces. I would probably do a 3 year contact first and if i really like it do another 3 years. My end career i want to be is Firefighting in Ontario. Many people have told me that having army experience on your resume puts you on top of the list. So why not do something Ive always wanted to do and also have it as a experience for my resume. I'm 20 years old and i am in my best physical shape because ive been working out hard core since i was 17. Thanks for your opinions...
Will the army accept me if i graduate through an online alternative school? if so, will the special forces? I want to transfer to an online alternative school. I am very smart and not a bad kid or anything, i just want to be able to graduate at my pace without the distractions of other people or the stress of highschool. The army is the most important thing in the world to me and i would like to know if i graduate online, will the army rangers look down upon my online diploma? and by the way, i didnt mean "at my pace" as in a slow way so dont lecture me on the special forces, i already know that you must volunteer for the special forces and they must accept you. your job is to answer the question not add aditional worthless information which i already know.
How to train to go to join the army? Recommended work outs? Hi. I want to be in the army (specifically 101st airborne division... possibly scout sniper but that's REALLY hard and that probably wont happen) and i want to train early in my life. I'm 15, Vietnamese German. 6'0", 161 lbs, medium frame. I'm pretty weak so that's why i want to train, my max bench is 100lbs 7 times. I don't get that much exercise(i bike about 2 miles once a week) but i intend on changing that. Can you tell me how to ready myself for the army. recommended work outs? FWI, im not doing this because of video games or media. I personally this VGs are stupid and are glorifying the army. especially COD. Its very, very, very unlikely that you would cheat death about 20 times in like a month of combat.
My knees are failing and the Army is doing NOTHING? After almost 5 years in the Army my knees have failed. Ive dislocated both of my Patellas ( Knee Cap) in a matter of 9 months. Ive been to Physical Therapy and Orthopedics multiple times but they just keep giving me Motrin and putting me on a 2 month profiles at a time. (This has been going on literally 9 months.) Im really at my wits end, im not someone who quits but I dont want to continue hurting myself. I have 9 months left in the Army and Im wondering what I should do. Give me some advice i need it.
If I can't find a job should I just join the army? I have a college degree in economics. Maybe I'm not trying hard enough or not looking the right way for a job (I suck at networking). I don't want to spend my parents money (even though they're pretty rich and can afford to support me)...so is joining the army a good option? Question: What's the shortest length I can join the army/cost guard/national guard/navy/marines (any military unit) for (in case I really hate it)? And how much do they pay someone per year with no experience?
Army combat engineers or Air Force red horse? I am planning on doing ROTC for either the army or air force. I want to study civil or mechanical engineering. The question is which career choice would be better? Army engineer officer or air force red horse officer? I've heard red horse is the air force's combat engineers but do they really see that much combat? I just want to know which option would be more of a challenge and more enjoyable.
Are Canadians still allowed to enlist in the American military as they did during the Vietnam War? I have a few friends who served in that war, and one of them told me that there was a few Canadians in his company(He served in the Army from 1967 - 1969), he claims that the Canadians traveled to America to volunteer and enlist for military training that they would not get in Canada at the time, and many believed in the cause. He said his company has a large mix of volunteers and draftees But I am just wondering if it could still happen today?
What is the average time it takes for the U.S. Army to open the job you want? I will be asking the recruiter this but I prefer to get as much info as I can get. First, is it true the army is no longer doing 12m/21m firefighter? That was my first choice. But I am not picky. I'm also interested in plumber, military police, aviations operations specialist and motor transportation operator. There are a few others and I do qualify for them. What is the average time it takes to get one of these open? Thank you.
So there is always a catch to something promised in the u.s. Army? 9/11 post gi bill promises guaranteed tuition but... Only in certain universities and degrees. You get paid $1,024 a month as an E-1 but... A good portion is taken away for expenses such as food provided at a dining facility. Haha i don't believe your first statement but your second statement about the gi bill sounds true.
Is the Occupy Wallsteet Peeps part of Satans Army? Jesus said not to be greedy and work for your food Part of those people demands on Wallstreet is get their College loans paid off- Mortgages and their credit cards. Isn't that as greedy as you get? The bible says Satans army will have 200 million- and there is 175 million Jihadi terrorists.
Is the military a good way to stay sober? My boyfriend likes to smoke weed and I suspect something else a little more serious. He freaks out every time I ask him. So all I can do is say I'll be here for him. He is going to join the army in about a year. Is it a good way for him to stay clean? I know that whatever it is that's "bad" has to end soon because the military drug tests and that's his life goal. Thankyou in advanced!
Can I transition from Army Enlisted to Navy Officer? I am currently enlisted in the Army with less than 2 years left on my initial contract. I am contemplating switching over to the Navy, but doing so as an officer. I have my bachelor's degree already, and believe I meet all the other requirements to apply to be a Navy Officer. Is it possible once my current contract is up with the Army to straight transition to the Navy, or do I have to wait a little while and then try?
Dark Contingencies: The Zombiepocalypse (Vol 1.); Can you survive a night of zombies? In Volume One of Zombiepocalypse, the zombies are caused by a virus which is not airborne. It causes rage and rabid like behavior - including cannibalism. Are you prepared to survive the night until Volume Two, where the army shows up at daybreak to bring order to a new day? Do you have food, supplies, safe shelter, and perhaps weapons? Do you have the state of mind necessary to kill your rabid neighbor's rabid walking-corpse?

How to wear the U.S. Army Beret? I get the basic concept of the wear, my main question is where do I get the "Stiffener", mine did not come with one. Or if there is a way to make a stiffener or form it without one please let me know. Thanks in advance! Yes for Class As. And maybe I should just buy a new one if no one knows. Thanks though. How do you form it without the cardboard, please be specific. Thank you.
Why does everyone hate the army? Ive been looking into enlisting and have been doing research as to how real soldiers feel about their time in the Army. It seems most things I find on myspace or youtube or whatever feature soldiers who have an F this attitude or generally hate the service and regret their decision. Is this a false representation or do most people who enlist generally become bitter and hate what they do? I was looking into the ANG if that matters.
How soon after enlisting in the army do you leave for basic? Along with that question what score would i need to get in order to be infantry or someone that works with field artillerly excuse if i spelled that wrong I want to enlist in the army and shortly after doing so i want to leave for basic like three to four months after signing up would this be possible?
Why do we still help the British army do what they do when we shouldn't even be in Afghanistan? It doesn't make any sense to me , in my personal opinion serving your country was a honor that stopped after world war II , those men and women that served during that time where serving a true cause for the country and the world! So why are so many people joining up to the army for a cause thats completely irrelevant to England? Being in the middle east isnt a cause... Or meaningful its pointless and its getting our men and women killed.... So why are so many people honored during a civil war that has absolutely sod all to do with us.
Motivation For Canadians wanting to Join the army in World War 1 ? make a list please im looking for something more original and specific than just: to serve their country or something also if you could say what kind of people had what kind of motivation e.g. farmers wanted to join the army because... Thank you So Much. EDIT: i need 5 different points for one type of person/character
what is it like for females in the Army? I am a shy girl with a small bladder and i am worried that they will not let me use the bathroom when i need to. Also what do women in the army do when there out on an expidition and they have to pe
